Bind Up The Strongman Of Fear!

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4: 18) Fear is the single most powerful and damaging weapon that the enemy and his cohorts uses against the saints of God to perforate and penetrate our faith in God. It is powerful enough to attack a believer’s peace, his/her vision and faith while its slow release of intoxicating poisonous venomous effects seeps through the mind, and eventually cause one to abort his/her purpose in life, derail their divine destinies, before he brings about his final assault of assassination on hope of the future and faith in God. Fear is so powerful that it can cause paralysis of the mind and unless a person is delivered from it, it becomes a stronghold in the life of the individual for life.

Satan knows that you must have faith in God for His promises to come to pass in your life. If he can get you to doubt God, he will accomplish his goal of keeping you out of God’s will for your life and cause you to miss your blessings. But all believers have a choice. You have a choice whether to take up God’s weaponry and His spiritual arsenal (His word) and launch a counter attack upon the kingdom of darkness by releasing words of faith from your mouth into the causal realm of the spirit. It is these words of faith that breaks demonic strongholds, that breaks the powers of darkness and binds up the strongman of fear causing it to give way to the light of Jesus in you to shine through to reveal the mysteries of God’s perfect will and plan for your life. 

God made it absolutely clear in His word that He did not give us a spirit of fear, but one of power, of love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Fear comes from the devil and by listening to his negative thoughts, he then manipulates and translates them into negative words, (what you say) which are then followed by negative and defeating actions (what you do).So by all means, guard your ear gates, your eye gates and your mouth gate. Check your connections of who you are allowing to speak into your ears.

I am embarrassed to even admit this, but it took me many years before I personally realized that my life was once controlled by a spirit of fear. To make matters worst, sister anxiety tagged along for the ride. You see, I was once in a very abusive relationship. I kept it to myself for a long time and each day would try to figure out a way of escape from it. Later on, I somehow felt I had come up with the perfect plan for the escape until one day I began to listen to the voice of reasoning that told me I was never going to make it out there in life on my own should I get out of that relationship…..The spirit of fear and manipulation actually told me how much it hated me. I subsequently began to feel so inadequate, it left me with a spirit of low self-esteem to the point that I could not even look at myself in the mirror. But God……He delivered me as He began to reveal Himself to me in such remarkable ways and filled my heart to overflowing with His peace and His perfect love.

According to the word of God, faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. You must be willing to surrender your will to God and feed your spirit man, your heart and mind with His word. To bind up the strongman of fear, exercise the power and the authority that God has given you through His word. The world systems operate by fear. It says that you have to be educated, have a college degree, etc, but know that pleasing God in His Kingdom means operating in a spirit of faith. (Hebrews 11:6) 

It is that which you fear the most is that which will follow you. “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” (Job 3:25) Faith needs love in order for it to be most effective, not just to please God but it is of absolute necessity in pulling your blessings from the spirit realm so that they begin to manifest in the earth realm. Remember, as you seek God’s peace in your life, there is no fear in love for perfect love cast out all fear. Again, bind up the strongman of fear!
