8 Truths To Remember When You Think God Is Far From You

think-god-is-far-from-you

I recall the early days of my Christian life where I felt that God was far from me and that He was not paying any attention to me. The hardships. The struggles for days on end. Often times, I wondered to myself ‘God where are you? Do you even remember me? Is my case not up for hearing as yet? When are you going to turn things around for me?’

I admit it was really difficult. But now as I continue to mature in the word of God, it is more of a reality that the enemy of our soul is the one who plays on our mind as he accuses God of not being near to us and that He [God] will not help you.

Not only does he accuse God, the bible says he is also the accuser of the brethren. He use the mouth of others to speak lies and to make you believe that God is mad with you and that He is disappointed in you.

He also has the nerve to try and make you think believe that you did so much wrong in your past that there is no way that God will ever forgive you and that you are not saved. So there you are carrying around the weight of guilt, shame and condemnation.

The next time however thoughts that God is far from you comes to mind or He is disappointed in you, meditate on the word of God:

1. He goes with you wherever you go

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. ~ Deuteronomy 31:6

2. He will not disappoint you

And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. ~Deuteronomy 31:8

3. He will be your strength

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of thy righteousness. ~ Isaiah 41:10-13

4. He will never leave your side – with you 24-7

Let not your conversation be without coveteousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. ~Hebrews 13:5

5. He will carry your burden

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. ~ Psalm 55:22

6. No need to ever worry

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. ~1 Peter 5:7

7. With Him you have blessed assurance

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest. ~Joshua 1:9

8. He equips you so you get the job done

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. ~1 Chronicles 28: 20
