9 Uplifting Bible Quotes for When You Are Hurting and Need Comfort
Life is God’s most wonderful and precious gift to us, but by the same token, life is not always that easy. There are many wounded and hurting souls and many who are broken in spirit at this present moment.
There are those who are in search of answers for things that are just too perplexed for ones human intellectual capability.
I often think of all 239 passengers and crew aboard Malaysia flight MH370 that disappeared without a trace in early March 2014, and their families who up to this day are still left searching for answers.
With each passing day, hope dwindles while the intensity of the pain continues and the void deepens within their souls. It is never an easy thing when faced with such tragedy.
You may not be dealing with the loss of a loved one, but you are hurting for some other reason unknown to man because you’ve kept the problem/s to yourself, but it is no secret to God who is omniscient.
He is the only on to turn to – the only one from whom we can glean that level of confidence in His omnipotence to heal, to mend and to comfort.
It is on that premise that I bring to you these uplifting bible quotes through which you can find comfort, courage and strength to go on:
1.) And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. ~ Romans 8:28 ESV
2.) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 8:37-39 ESV
3.) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. ~ John 16:33 ESV
4.) I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, And he shall strengthen your heart,; Wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14 NKJV
5.) He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.” ~ Job 5:11 NKJV
6.) Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and will help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10 NLT

8.) All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give the same confort God has give us.’ ~ 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Thank You Yvonne. I am so glad and greatful that I found You this Morning. You have helped immensely in just the 3 Articles I have read. I am so thankful to You that You felt the need to write these even 2 years ago because today I needed them. 🙂
Welcome to EMB! I am super excited that you found us and that the articles were helpful and encouraging. I also applaud your courage in commenting and for giving such a wonderful feedback. I am blessed by that.
The truth about God’s word is that it never grow old or outdated. His promise also is to lead us beside still waters, to lead us into green pastures and that our souls be renewed where He leads us. This is such a great example of how His word came alive today.
God bless you. Hope to see you again soon. Enjoy the rest of the week. Cheers! 🙂
Hi Yvonne! Nothing like the Word to encourage us! One of my favorite is Isaiah 65:24 “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear”. As you’ve stated and the Word tells us, He KNOWS it all. Before we even get a chance to think about it, let alone worry about it, He’s working behind the scenes to fix it!
Have a blessed rest of your week my friend!
Hi Michel so great to have you join in this discussion! Welcome! 🙂 That scripture is also one of my favorite..it is so easy when we are going through difficulties to think that God has somehow forgotten us, but He says even before we can think of what to say or say what we have in mind to speak, God has already worked it out!!! Thanks for bringing this powerful word of encouragement to the forum.
Blessings and continue to have a great week!
Fantastic! – Just what I needed today!
I am also encouraged by it too Angie – even more so today than yesterday when I posted it. God is gracious and kind to us. I feel His love and please continue to do the same. God bless you and have a great day!

Hi Pastor Ava, continue to be encouraged as well and thank you as always for your prayers, love, support and encouragement. God bless you richly! 🙂
Love these verses! Palms 27:14 “wait on the Lord” has certainly given me calmness when patience seems impossible! 🙂
Hi Christina, I appreciate you taking the time out to read this post and to weight in with your comment. I can also say that Psalm 27:14 is one of my favorite bible verses. Can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve had to declare this word into the atmosphere and over my life to bring me peace and calmness. God bless you! 🙂
