Having God’s Wisdom You Are Unstoppable
I believe that having a good education is a wonderful thing and we ought to get as much of it as we can. By it, we gain knowledge and wisdom. Education is necessary because of the important role it plays in nourishing the body and mind. While that may be so, we ought not make it our god wherein our worship is channeled to the number of degrees we have or the level to which they have been attained.
John Dewey once defined education as the systematic, purposeful reconstruction of experience; however, it is clear that the modernization of education and the system that provides it leaves God out of the equation. A number of schools for example lack spiritual emphasis altogether – they have gone so far as to ban prayers, bibles and bible teachings from schools. In some nations it is even a crime punishable by law to be seen with a bible much less reading it.
But the bible says in Proverbs 4;7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding.” The bible further teaches us in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to you.”
Wisdom being the principal thing means that we cannot be all who God has created and called us to be without having the kind of education we get from God’s word to feed and nourish our spirit man. A soul that is void of the wisdom of God, is a barren and unfruitful soul.
King Solomon was said to be the richest man in times past, yet when the opportunity was given to him to ask of the Lord anything that his heart desired, he chose to ask God for wisdom to govern and rule over the people wisely.
He said to God, “Now give me wisdom and knowledge to rule them properly, for who is able to govern by himself such a great nation as this one of yours.” – 2 Chronicles 1:10 Living Bible (TLB)
There is evidence to prove that the generation of today, both young and old lack the wisdom that God can give to make right choices and decisions to pave the way for a brighter future. We are raising a generation of young people who do not know God or even understand what it means to have a holy reverential fear of God. Billy Graham once said without the wisdom that God can give, “they can turn into educated savages and fools.” As parents, leaders and educators we have a responsibility to train our children in the right way.
Proverbs 9:10 ESV says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” God welcomes and gives freely those who asks Him for wisdom. When we consult God and gain heavenly wisdom through His word, you and I are unstoppable!
