ABC’s Of Salvation
What is Salvation and why get saved? It is established in Genesis 1:26 that man is a created being after the image and likeness of God, but because of Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned…. (Romans 3:23) The Bible states clearly that every soul that sin shall die (“For the wages of sin is death….Romans 6:23) and the one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly lost (Rev.19:20) Salvation then is redemption from eternal damnation and restoration back to God. (Mark 16:16)
The ABC’s Of Salvation
Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance from dead works!
- Admit that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23
- Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ that He is the Son of God born of the virgin Mary, was crucified, died, buried, and on the third day God the Father raised Him up from the dead, and that He has ascended back to God where He is ever making intercession for all. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)
- Confess your faith. “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)
Do You Need to Be Baptized?
- YES! Water baptism is by immersion under water and is a direct commandment of Jesus and is for Believers only. (Matthew 28:19. Acts 2:38, Acts 16:33)
Prayer of Salvation
Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. You said in your word that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) Father I call on you and admit that I am a sinner and I ask your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, that He was raised from the dead on the third day. I repent of all my sins, and I surrender myself totally and completely to you. Lord I ask you to come into my heart, be Lord of my life. By faith I now confess Jesus Christ as my new Lord and Savior and I dedicate my life to serving Him, amen.
