[DAY 7 of 21] "The Journey To Your Restoration ~ The Institution Of Your Blessing"
Have you ever been at a place in your life where you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God gave you specific instructions to do something but somehow half way through the journey or the assignment you became discouraged and you felt like giving up? Well, tell you what, if you have answered yes to this question, you are not alone, because I have. As recent as today, I am about to post this article on line, and I began to analyse a particular matter. I even began to question God as to whether or not this twenty-one (21) days assignment that He gave me was making any sense at all. I said, “Father God, countless hours and sleepless nights are spent on it. I can see the crowd, the multitude in the distance and they are gravitating towards specific persons, titles and ministries, yet I see others, myself included, in obscurity as if to say what we have to say makes no sense to them at all.” Well I can just imagine you are now agreeing with me, because you too have felt the same way at times.
Well now, as I continued in the conversation with the Lord, His Holy Spirit ministered to my heart and said, “Do not get discouraged, continue to do what I have asked you to do. Don’t mind the crowd, many are not hearing me. They are not going so much to hear, they are going after idols. But let the wheat and the tears continue to grow together until the day when I shall separate them.” It is only then that my spirit man began to feel a burden lifted that I could now continue this journey of faith. I would even pause right here to say that life in itself is a journey of faith filled with experiences that do not always leave us feeling happy.
The emotions at times gets in the way and if left unchecked could cloud our judgement and our ability to think rationally and to do the things that are most pleasing to God. It is at times like these when doubt, fear and unbelief creeps in and tries to over power the gift of faith. But now we can see that the act of obedience as being so essential to life that it is the key that unlocks and institutes the blessings of God in our lives. This I cannot emphasize enough.
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
(Romans 4: 20-21)
In studying this word, I learned that when God intends some special blessing for His people, He commonly puts a sentence of death upon the blessing itself. And like He did with Joseph and Abraham, and I believe exactly that’s what He did with me as I outlined in the beginning of this article, God will give you a word and then He puts you to the test. He tests you to see what you are really made up of. He tests your faithfulness to Him and to see whether or not you are coming after Him for what’s in His hands, the blessing/s or you are coming after Him for what’s in His heart. (love, purity, holiness, righteousness etc) He establishes scenes and scenarios and even allow road blocks that makes it look like the thing is unattainable, like you will not make the mark.
But like these witnesses that we have before us today, we have got to remember in whom we believe. It is God who quickeneth all things, even those that are dead in trespasses and sins. It is God Himself that our faith must be fastened upon and see Him as the only one who could breathe life into dry bones and make them live. The next thing to remember is how we first believed. Like Abraham, we too first believed against hope, and then afterwards to believe in hope. Let me explain. Hope itself was against Abraham including us also. All the arguments of sense, and reason, and experience, which in cases would usually produce and support hope, were against him. (Gen.15: 4-5) “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken. (Romans 4: 18) Thirdly, do not dwell on or even have any self consultation about the difficulties themselves. Let faithfulness itself venture on the promise, and in turn let the promise keep the faith.
There is so much more that I would like to share on this matter that time would not permit me to do. But in closing, I would like to share with you that I am a living witness that God who has promised is faithful to deliver. “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief:“ Today we find unbelief at the bottom of staggering at God’s promises that some continue to go around in circles, around the same mountain each and every time. But we must never allow “staggering” to be that which causes us to miss out on the institution and the restoration of our blessings. For although God will not reject weak faith, yet strong faith shall be commended and honoured.
Well thank you so much for being a part of this discussion. I pray God’s blessings in your life as we continue to do life together and have fellowship one with another.
