Miss Sharie deCastro Crowned Miss Caribbean World 2013

 

Miss Sharie deCastro brought more pride and joy to the British Virgin Islands territory when she outclassed 11 other beauties Saturday evening May 4th 2013 to be declared Miss Caribbean World 2013.

Miss deCastro, also the Miss BVI of 2012, was crowned during the contest at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex here on Tortola.

Leslassa Armour Shillingford of Dominica was declared 1st Runner-Up, while 2nd Runner-Up went to Carice Glasgow of St.Vincent and the Grenadines.

Joy-Ann Biscette of St. Lucia was adjudged the 3rd Runner-Up and also won the Best national Costume while Barbie Adams of St.Kitts landed 4th Runner-Up position.

In addition to winning the crown, deCastro copped five sectional prizes to include Miss Poise, Best Talent, Best Evening Wear and Miss Intellect.

She tied with Miss Dominica to win the Best Swimwear category, while Miss Dominica was awarded title of Miss Photogenic.

The pageant drew other participants from Haiti, United States, United States Virgin Islands, St. Croix, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts and Nevis, Cuba, Antigua and Barbuda and the Bahamas.


The Miss Caribbean World Pageant  is in its 8th year. Last year 2012 winner was Miss Dominica, Nadira Lando.
