Christian Meriam Ibrahim and Family Liberates from Sudan, Lands Safely In Italy

News source [UK media] have reported that Christian Sudanese woman Meriam Ibrahim who had earlier faced the death sentence for refusing to renounce her Christian faith have landed safely in Italy with her family and is en route to the US.
Her family was accompanied by the Italian Deputy Foreign Minister, Lapo Pistelli, who helped arrange her departure from Sudan and travelled with her to Italy. The family has been sheltered at the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum for almost a month.
Meriam Ibrahim, her husband Daniel Wani, son Martin ( a year and a half), and daughter Maya who was born in prison two months ago met with Pope Francis in the Casa Santa Marta, said Father Federico Lombardi, SJ [head of the Vatican Press Office], a meeting he said took place in a “very serene and affectionate” environment.

Meriam Ibrahim meets Pope Francis with her daughter Maya in her arms, in his Santa Marta residence, at the Vatican.
EMB would like to express gratitude to the Almighty God for all that He has done in working through the many men and women in support of the family and to secure their release.
We also take this opportunity to wish Meriam Ibrahim and her family all of God’s richest, abundant blessings as they forge into their new life ahead.
