Prayer – Your Light In Darkness and Strength in Weakness

Today I feel led to release a prayer to the nations of the world to bring encouragement, hope and strength. It is also my hope that through these few words, the light of Jesus will shine through the darkness that surrounds you and that you will find strength in this your hour of weakness.

The scriptures that have come to bear witness to my spirit [below] speaks of God’s tender mercy to His people and how His light will shine on those who are living in darkness [sin, chaos, confusion, distress, affliction, hopelessness, despair etc…] and His promise to guide your feet into the path of peace.

“…because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” ~ Luke 1:76-79 NIV “Don’t be glad on my account, my enemy! When I fall I’ll get up. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD is a light for me.” ~ Micah 7:8 ISV

MY PRAYER

Merciful God we look up towards heaven to your throne of grace and petition you for your light to surround us and to penetrate its way through every dark spot and shady areas of our lives. We ask for your forgiveness for our sins and pray for restoration, deliverance and healing from past hurts, pain, disappointments, regrets and shame.

According to your word, we have the understanding that your ears are not too heavy to hear us and neither are your arms too short to reach us where we are be it in darkness or in a lonely, helpless state. So we ask for your outstretched arms to comfort and guide us. Uphold us with your right hand of righteousness.

We humble ourselves as little children so that we may be looked upon as the greatest in your kingdom here on earth and in heaven. According to Revelation 12:11 we rightfully declare ourselves as conquerors and victorious overcomers through the blood of Jesus and by the word of our testimony.

We declare that we are free from chains, shackles and fetters of iron from the wicked one and by your blood we are washed, cleansed and fire baptized by your Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen.
