6 Simple But Smart Ways To Live In Abundance
One of my online friends and fellow bloggers Rachel of Dig A Little Deeper wrote a post a few days ago entitled “Abundance Is Theory – Until It Becomes A Lived Experience,” I must tell you that really caused me to dig deep inside and ask myself this question, “Am I really living and experiencing abundance?” ”
Hopefully this is a question that will motivate you to action to do some deep introspection and to answer this question truthfully for yourself. Meanwhile, my comment in part was this:
“I see abundance as knowing and understanding the purpose for which one was created in life and pursuing it. It’s about having a relationship with our Creator since it is from him that we can be guaranteed of a steady flow of abundance. It’s about joy, happiness, love, peace…It’s such a beautiful thing to have. We don’t deserve it but through grace we have it. Isn’t that the most precious thing that one could have?”
Abundance can be expanded to mean an overflowing fullness and an abundance of the heart; affluence; wealth; an extremely plentiful or over-sufficient quantity or supply. It’s a person being excessively rich, with or without money and rich in the fullness of God’s grace.
As for my friend’s post, I could not have agreed more that until you start living and experiencing abundance, it is just theoretical. It is words on paper. It is merely a particular conception or a view of something to be done or the method of doing it. It remains embodied as a system of rules or principles.
You see, too many of us have brilliant ideas and million dollar dreams in mind but what we speak out of our mouth and our actions on a daily basis are so far out of alignment with our thoughts.
We have the dream, yet we don’t believe for ourselves that it shall come to pass. We doubt the one who gave us the dream in the first place. Then we look at others and wonder why are they doing so well, yet we are so far behind in life.
But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that ‘you are what you think, what comes out of your mouth and subsequently, what you begin to attract in your life.’
So rather than living, some merely exist. Why?
And according to Ben Sweetland, “The world is full of abundance and opportunity, but far too many people come to the fountain of life with a sieve instead of a tank car – a teaspoon instead of a steam shovel. They expect little and as a result they get little.”
Understanding the Law of Abundance
It is interesting to note that just as there is the Law of Attraction there is also the Law of Abundance. Research has also shown that, “The Law of Abundance is an abiding principle within universal laws. It is the simple fact that there is an unlimited Source of everything we need or could want. This great abundance is already ours, infinitely available to all of us all the time.”
Abundance has no limits. And if we are to reap abundance, then we must first align ourselves with the Law of Abundance and move in unity and oneness with it. So how can we do that?
6 Simple But Smart Ways to Live In Abundance
Here are six ways that you can attract abundance in your life and live it to the fullest:
1.) OPEN UP YOURSELF AND CONNECT TO THE SOURCE OF YOUR CREATIVITY
This I believe is the very first step to abundance. It is a state of being connected to the source of your power and energy. God is the ultimate source. He is the highest power. He is infinitely creative and we are His creation to draw strength, love, prosperity, joy and our ability to be creative from Him.
According to Deuteronomy 8:18, it is He that gives us power to get wealth, not only financial wealth but an overflowing of happiness, peace, cutting edge strategies, uncommon favors not just with Him but all those whom we come into contact with on a daily basis.
We cannot harden our hearts or close ourselves off shut from this Divine Source. The laws of the universe that governs all of us, helps us to realize that abundance is who we are. We have it! And by the grace of the Almighty, it has already been given to us.
Your experience with abundance and what you can get from it is ultimately dependent on how closely you are in alignment with it.
2.) FOCUS ON BEING A BLESSING
“Talent is always conscious of its own abundance, and does not object to sharing.” – Alexander Solzhenitsyn
All too often we are caught up with getting and gathering more unto ourselves as opposed to giving and being.
But the simple truth is that when we focus our time, energy and our resources on sharing with others and being a blessing, God ensures that you are always blessed in abundance.
Another basic principle goes like this, ‘the more you give, it is the more that you will receive.’ You give in great proportion and you can expect to receive double-fold to what you gave out.
Do you see how abundance comes naturally into your life?
3.) FORGIVE YOURSELF AND OTHERS THEN LET GO
Harboring unforgiveness in your heart and holding on to anger, bitterness, negativity and other attitudes of that nature quickly blocks the flow of abundance in your life.
I could recall many years ago holding on to anger and unforgiveness in my heart for the wrong others had done to me. One occasion in particular was when my husband left me despite my pleas and eventually he married the other woman.
I was totally devastated. I was bitter. And while my heart was broken and painful, it also began to harden to the point I just wanted to get back at him and hurt him badly.
One day however, I got a strong conviction in my heart and realized too that if I wanted to be truly liberated and to experience the abundance of blessings from God in my life, I would have to forgive him. It was the best thing I could have done.
The harsh reality is that there are no medicines that you can buy that would cure your unforgiveness. It’s like a cancer. Therefore, you make a choice right now, yes, today to release the grudges that you are holding in your heart against the person who did you wrong.
Release yourself also so that you can be free from feeling the hurt and pain over and over again. Forgive yourself and others so that your heavenly Father may forgive you of your trespasses.
“Forgiveness is not always easy. At times it feels more painful than the wound suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness.” – Marianne Williamson
4.) GET EXCITED FOR OTHERS AND CELEBRATE THEIR ABUNDANCE
There is no shortage of abundance and generosity in the universe. The moment you realize that someone else, especially the ones closest to you is being blessed with their abundance, tell yourself that yours is within close proximity. The best thing you can do is to be happy for them and start to celebrate their abundance.
No need to be envious, jealous and show little to no interest in the joys and blessings of others. Get excited for them. Show that you genuinely care and are appreciative of what they have received or accomplished in their life.
I totally agree with Caroline Zwickson when she said, “The soil for and abundant life cannot be filled with jealousy, envy and negativity. If you can’t be happy for someone else’s abundance, you won’t ever attract it yourself.”
Envy, jealousy and a lack of energy for other people abundance is a repellant that blocks yours. Celebrate and create the abundance you want.
5.) SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE ABUNDANCE MINDSET
If you want to become a pilot, will you hang around the captain of a cruise liner ship? If you want to become a doctor, will you hang out with a lawyer? You get the point, right?
Whether you believe it or not, your environment plays a huge role influencing your thoughts, your words and subsequently your actions. It literally shapes your world and eventually your future.
If you constantly hang around people who are constantly negative, who see doom and gloom no matter how brightly the sun is shining or who never see themselves as achieving anything good in life including abundance, then eventually you begin to doubt yourself with your own capacities and capabilities.
Break yourself free from that cycle that has a vision of failure and begin to surround yourself with people who have a mindset to create abundance in their life, and yours too.
6.) START ‘ACTING AS IF’ OR ‘THINK FROM THE END’
What do I mean by this? You put yourself in motion and start thinking and doing things that begin to push you in the direction of abundance and success. You pursue positive emotions and actions that support the abundance you seek as though it was already existent in your life.
Speak with confidence and become passionate about what you do. Your voice when you speak to others must be such that it inspires others to action.
Make it your duty to affirm each day:
- I attract abundance into my life because abundance is who I have been created to be.
- I am in alignment with the source of my abundance.
Very soon you begin to feel the vibration from the universal source and the generosity of abundance and success being manifested in your everyday life.
In conclusion

Hi Yvonne
I read Rachel’s post on Abundance and she was certainly right that living in Abundance isn’t a word thing but should be full of action.
You certainly nailed it with this post and revealed some insight on how to live in abundance. Connecting to the source is the best thing in the world. What is the point on running on reserved when you can gain more energy from the source.
I agree that being focused on being a blessing is true and forgiveness does have a lot of benefit. I really enjoyed this post and I say thumbs up.
Thanks for sharing. Take Care
Good to have you back Yvonne. I did miss you.
Hi Ikechi
I am so happy to see you here once again. Yes I was gone for a while but thank God for a renewed mind and spirit.
I am equally excited to hear that you enjoyed the post. Yes we are to live in abundance and connect to the source and the place where all of our help comes from. God wants us to have the best there is in life, it’s for us to make that discovery of how to bring it into the earth realm and to live the way He wants us to live.
Thanks again. I appreciate you and for being a faithful follower and supporter to this communing. I value your input. Blessings! Have a fantastic week.
Hey Yvonne,
What a post. Thank you so much for such a wonderful mention.
All your points were so valid. But what really resonated with me is being happy for those who have abundance. Don’t be jealous or envious. That is so true, get curious. Celebrate where they are.
I have had people in my life that have way more than me (financially and materialistically). I could only ever be happy for them – I never once saw our paths as identical, but I always found their motivation to show off they way they did, or share a story the way they did was questionable. If you have so much and are happy about it, then why do you need my approval or acceptance.
Being around like minded people is essential as it can motivate you and together creative juices can ignite and bang-o you have a great idea that only needs follow through.
Once I found my path, things started to change for the better. My focus came with a steel determination, my will could not be fractured and I really started to fill up with an appreciation of who I was. And I recognised my voice was beneficial to the world, so I had better get busy and use it. Thanks for an amazing post.
Rachel.
Hi Rachel:
Excited to see you and for blessing us with such value added comment. I tip my hat off to you because of the motivation, encouragement and inspiration I receive from you to explore the subject matter more and to come up with this post. I believe it is a real example of when we celebrate each other for the abundance they have, that ours come to us. 🙂
I love your determination and I want to encourage you to keep on going despite whatever challenges you may face along the way. There are some basic principles in life such as the ones mentioned – do not be envious or jealous of others, rejoice with them, more blessed to give than to receive that when we follow these principles, the abundance in life comes knocking at your door.
It is important to be in the company of like minded people and the ones who will celebrate with us, and hold us accountable to our goals, plans and our actions. So stay focus and all that you hope and dream about it’s only a matter of time that you see them come to fruition.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend. 🙂
Yvonne,
Wonderful post about abundance! There are so many things we can do to attract this beautiful truth and the manifestation of it into our lives.
I disagree with you on only one thing… I believe that we are deserving of abundance – the full abundance available to us as humans, which is as deep as the capacity for abundance is, which is infinite.
I believe we are all born worthy of this wealth of love, joy, beauty, connection, curiosity, knowledge, wisdom, happiness, money, success (definitions differ for everyone), spiritual fulfillment, health, etc.
It is God’s grace that helps us manifest these things. The mystery of a love so perfect, all encompassing and without judgement, that it’s difficult for many to believe.
In this grace, I believe, we are meant to love ourselves as God love us. Without restriction, measurement, judgement, expectation.
Believing that I am worthy of abundance has been a journey for me.
Thank you for these great ways to live in abundance!
Take good care,
Jenn
Hi Jenn:
So good to have you weigh in on this and to give such a wonderful feedback. I am happy that you enjoyed reading it and that you can relate to how we can attract the beautiful truth of abundance and the manifestation of it into our lives.
The context in which I said we don’t deserve abundance is purely from the place of ‘man fallen from grace through our sins/sinful nature. We did not work for it and when we remove grace and God’s favor out of the picture, we really can do nothing on our own, Without God’s righteousness the bible tells us we are as filthy rags. Jesus’ blood paid the price that we may have life [all that it entails] and to have it abundantly.’ God’s love, His grace and favor is why we have abundance. I hope this clears up the misunderstanding.
Thanks for your participation in the discussion. Have a great weekend. Cheers! 🙂
