It’s The 100th Post And I Am Grateful

“I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new.” Ralph Waldo Emerson. When the Lord first gave me the idea for this site back in January 2012, it was at a very low point in my life – it was born out of much adversity, trial, persecution, and rejection.. Circumstances that I’ve since archived in the pages of history, had left me feeling unappreciated, unloved, defeated and shrunk back by fear. Wait a minute, did I just say fear? That’s right, fear! That manipulative bully! It was in that moment of my deepest despair, that a voice deep within me began to cry out. I was listening to my heart cry. It needed urgent attention! There was no one else that I could turn to but God. It lingered on for a couple days until He answered my cry and asked me this question: “Who better to encourage and empower yourself but you through the word of God?”

Truth be told, I shrunk back even more. I felt inadequate and ill-equipped for the task. Yes, writing has always been my passion, especially when I could not find someone to listen to me I would call my pen and paper into submission and they are there ready at all times to receive what I have to say. But here is another truth that may surprise you. I was clueless about this thing called “blogging.” Never heard the term. I had never even heard the word “blogosphere.” Okay, folks, by now you are asking, ‘well, what planet is she from?’ Let me help with this answer. The social media network facebook and twitter, was all that I was familiar with.
And how could I have forgotten this? – God would call you having nothing, and would then equip you with everything you need to succeed in life and all that He calls you to do. Just look who He chose for His twelve disciples…just ordinary guys, some whose only occupation was being a fisherman. Then look who God chose to lead His children out of Egypt and out of the hands of Pharoah. It was Moses who complained when called about his stuttering and slurred speech. Jeremiah said, he is just a little child and tried to wrestle his way out of what God was calling him to. The point is the weaker that you are in surrender to God, the stronger He can be in you and through you to manifest His power and His glory.
I believe that God has great plans for this website. Less of me and more of Him. A website that would honor  Him and draw people who are wrestling with some of life’s deepest longings, challenges and deep seated wounds and scars from their past painful experiences. I also believe that God wants this website to be a place where people can come to, a safe place where they can come and have an unforgettable encounter with Him. A place where they can be and not feel less than or be judged and condemned, but loved,  accepted and appreciated. A place where we can laugh together, cry if we have to and encourage each other each day.
The journey has been an amazing one! I’ve learned so much about me as I write for you and for the glory of God. I say to each one of you in a very personal way, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thank you for your love and support! Thank you for all of your encouraging words, whether through your comments here on my blog, facebook, twitter or through emails. To my fellow bloggers, you’ve been a great source of inspiration. I’ve learned so much from you in so little time. Keep up the good work, you are valuable to the world and those around you as you share your own thoughts and ideas about life, spirituality, relationships and so much more.
By the grace of God, my goal is to continue writing that which will have a positive impact on people’s lives and draw them to Christ; to provide hope for people with no hope and to provide guidance to help people to succeed in life. Again, thank you and may God bless you!

  2. Very inspiring column! This reminds me of the word, 'no eye has seen, no ear has heard nor has it entered into the heart of man what God has in store for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.' I continue to enjoy your blog and can clearly see that you are loved, blessed and favored by the Lord. Congratulations!!!

  3. Bless your heart Pastor Ava…I am continually giving all the glory to the one and only who is so deserving of it! It is only through His grace that I have made it thus far on this journey of faith. Without mention of the details, a special thank you for everything!

  4. Congratulations!!!! The Lord has brought you a long way. Glory be to God. May the Lord continue to guide you as you bless the nations on your blog. I sensed that there are many readers who silently visit your blog, in pain and agony of life's pressures, who draw their strength from your writings inspired by the Holy Spirit. I can sense in the spirit realm the men and women who are so frustrated and depressed, who have no hope, no reason to live, locking themselves in their rooms with enough srength to reach to their computers just to read your postings as the Lord ministers to them bringing light into their darkness, a smile on their faces and hope for tomorrow. I say to you Yvonne, continue to inspire, for lives are depending on you and most of all God is depending on you to lend him your faculties to be usded by Him. God needs a body to work through so that He can be legal on the earth. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I AM PROUD OF YOU AND YOUR ACHIEVEMENT! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
