Remain Steadfast In Love
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” ~ Mark 12:30
I am sure if I were to conduct a survey, many of us would have different variations as to the real meaning of love. What is it? And how can we appropriately express it without having the right understanding of what it means.
According to this bible verse, our first expression of love must be to God our Heavenly Father. As we worship Him, we are pouring out our love to Him. As we praise Him, we are saying, ‘God you are the highest supreme and sovereign being and there is no one else who is worthy of the praise that I offer up unto you.’
The good news is, God Himself is love! It is from Him we have the Agape love – the love that is pure and unconditional. We are capable of loving Him because He first loved. The measure of our love for others is dependent upon the love that we first have for God.
My challenge to you today, the next time before you say these words, “I love you” to someone, take a moment and reflect on the love that you have for God. Does it meet His standard? Are you in that place where you can truly say, “God I love you with all my heart, soul, mind, strength and with every fiber of my being?”
Shalom!
