God’s Love and Compassion Never Fails
Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassion never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.” ~ Lamentations 3:22-23
Have you ever thought about the many times we messed up through some sinful deed and because of God’s mercy, compassion and love, He restrained Himself and did not stir up His full wrath against us?
Think back a little on when you were growing up and you did something wrong. I am certain you wished then that your mom or dad would have spared you the punishment and that you did not get the beating. Perhaps you thought that your parents did not love you or they would not have punished you.
I remember so vividly the last beating that I received from my mom. I was seventeen years old. For her, age was not up for consideration. The thing is she had advised me not to go to the beach that day and I did. Looking back, I am thankful. I am indeed grateful because I believe there were numerous times that she restrained herself and allowed love to prevail instead.
Here in this text, it is very obvious that God our Heavenly Father does not treat us as our sins deserve, or deal with us according to our iniquities. His loving kindness never cease and His compassion never fail.
His love toward us is so strong, His fountain of mercy is inexhaustible and His river of compassion is so deep, we are spared again and again and our lives are not consumed. We owe a depth of gratitude to our Heavenly Father for sending His only Son to the cross to die in our stead.
He took upon Himself our sins. He has forgiven us for our iniquities and through the shed blood of Jesus, God purchased our redemption so that you and I are set free and we have life everlasting.
I pray that as we draw closer to Easter, that we pause to remember what Christ did for us. Let us draw nigh to God and to renew our lives afresh. Make it a fresh start and surrender your heart and life to Jesus Christ.
TALK IT OVER…
- As you reflect on this word, have you already made that important decision to accept Christ in your heart as your Lord and Savior?
- What are the things that is holding you back from surrendering your life to Christ?
- Make it your day, surrender your life and receive God’s gift of salvation today.
Write to us and let’s pray with you and for you.
Minister Yvonne I am so glad that God does not deal with us according to what we deserve. Thank God for his grace and mercy.. I am grateful for His never ending love. God says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us… I want to serve him to the end.
Likewise I want to serve God to the end. I want nothing to come between us. Just this morning I am reflecting and thinking how great our God is. This is twice, consecutively within the past week that I have been spared from a vehicular accident. Oh, if not for the grace of God!! 🙂 God bless you Pastor Ava
