Wisdom to Understand Truth

Behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest.
—Genesis 28:15

The words of Jesus as it is written in John 14:4 says, “And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know” was clearly not understood by Thomas whose response was this – “Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?” (John 14:5)

Jesus answered him in a very simple way, and one in which I could not help but attribute his tone to one that will forever ring out in eternity as being profoundly deep.

Jesus’ response implies that you and I are to look no further than Him. This is that statement, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

In that very moment, Thomas’ enquiring mind and his questioning tongue was silenced into a humble retreat of trust, reassurance and peace. The other disciples were comforted because God’s Son spoke these words in the affirmative. There was no doubt of who He was or rather, who He is!

He is the way! The only way! He is truth and no lie can be found in Him.

The marvellous truth uttered with such power and authority from the lips of the Son of God, brought more than enough comfort to assuage the sufferings of the tormented, enough wisdom to satisfy those who yearned for understanding, and enough power to set the great Christian movement in motion.

Are you looking for a way out of your difficulties and challenges and have not yet found one?

Have you been carrying the weight of the burden of yourself and others that have weakend you to the point of hopelessness and despair?

Have you become so discouraged with life that you just feel like giving in?

Are you at that place where the repeated onslaughts and attacks from the enemy have caused your faith to be almost gone?

Do you like Thomas need to know and understand the way that you should take?

My encouragement to you is look no further than the Cross and Christ who was crucified upon it over 2000 years ago to bring you hope for the future.

His final words “It is finished!” that He uttered on that dreadful says it all. His shed blood have already paid the way and have paved the way for you and everything that you are longing for.

So turn to Him as your point of surrender and let Him lead the way for you into victory, peace, your purpose and your destiny.

PRAYER

Lord we pray that you will favor us with your heavenly wisdom to know and understand truth which comes from your word. We ask that you go before us as the way, truth and life for hope and a brighter future. Lift up the fallen, strengthen the weak and feint hearted and restore faith in you once again where it has been lost, amen.

  1. God bless you ma

  2. Yvonne, these are indeed very powerful words for me! This weekend, I have gone through an experience that truly made me question a lot of things-especially where we as a people are going.

This event, and the actions caused by one person, really made me upset. Not angry, or mad, not even sad, but just left me questioning.

For two days I’ve been in this sort of feeling, but yesterday I reminded myself that I need to let it go. It is not His will that I feel like this, someone wants to distract me from my purpose by putting roadblocks (even if they are emotional) in my way.

” We ask that you go before us as the way, truth and life for hope and a brighter future. Lift up the fallen, strengthen the weak and feint hearted and restore faith in you once again where it has been lost, amen.”

I am praying this prayer with you, because sometimes, even the strongest person needs to be reminded of their strength in times of weakness.

    • Hi Kalley, it seems like we are both in similar situations right now..for me one event took place on Monday and another one this morning where someone did/said somethings to me very mean and nasty. The amazing thing about this blog though, I write from the place that I am at for that moment. And 99.9% of the times as I am encouraging myself through whatever it is, someone else is being encouraged as well.

Take heart my sister and my dear friend…the promise of God to us is that He will make our enemies to become our footstool and that they would not triumph over us. All we have to do is believe that we have already won! The battle is not ours to fight, it is the Lord’s. It just happen that He choose us as the ones through whom He can work. Love and blessings! 🙂
