7 ‘Weapons’ Believers Everywhere Must Have..

To Quench Every Fiery Dart Of the Enemy

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” ~ Ephesians 6:11 NIV

There is no doubt in my mind that we are living in the last days, and we are living in troubled times. Some have chosen to carry licensed fire arms as a means of protecting themselves.

Others have paid guards and high-tech security systems that goes off in an instant if an intruder comes along.

These things are not just limited to the un-saved. I mean Christians are doing it as well – seeking for protection through carnal and worldly means.

Have you ever noticed men and women of God who travel with large entourage where ever they go? Even in the assembly, the first row and sometimes the second row is off-limits for seating the general congregation. Persons are even appointed to stand guard at the altar.

But my question is, what good would any of this do for us in terms of protection if we do not put on and have on the whole armor of God? Can we be guaranteed protection from harm and danger by any of this? No!

Those who want to steal our joy, our peace and who want to do us harm and even take our lives in the process are not who we can see with our natural eyes.

Who are we wrestling against?

The Apostle Paul says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.” ~ Ephesians 6:12 NIV

By all means, Paul is referring to levels, systems, ranks and hierarchy of evil forces (evil spirits) that emanate out of the kingdom of darkness and whose aim is to steal, kill and destroy the lives of God’s people.

They have no legal grounds on which to stand here upon this earth until that is, they find a body through which they take up residence in to carry out their evil and sinister plots.

They manifest themselves also through organized hate groups such as those currently raking havoc in nations around the world – ISIS, Boko Haram, Calabrian mafia, Al-Qaeda and the barbarians who have an all out war against women to kidnap, rape, strangle and hang women from trees, just to mention a few.

How much more evil can they get? How many more lives must we lose before there is a reprieve or a cease fire? What should believers everywhere do? Ephesians 6 v 11

Weapons you must have in your arsenal

It is not enough to have weapons in our arsenal and not know how and when to use them. It is our duty as Christians to be versed in matters such as this.

1. The belt of truth buckled around your waist

We cannot waiver! Our posture must be one in which we stand firm on the truth of God’s word. By knowing truth, we are able to counter every lie and every form of deception that the enemy will send our way.

2. The Breastplate of righteousness in place

A Christian’s breastplate is righteousness (meaning you are in good standing) and comes from God alone. Man’s righteousness is filthy rags. The enemy will also bombard us with things of our past to make us feel as though we are not really saved. But we must make full use of God’s righteousness obtained through Christ’s death upon the cross to guard our heart.

3. The gospel of peace which is the shoes fitted on your feet

No soldier goes to battle with bare feet. On all occasions, our feet must be covered in the good news and the gospel of Christ, for the gospel is peace. It’s God’s peace that we need when chaos and turmoil are all around us. It is the peace that we will need to counter the enemy when he uses his weapon of confusion against us.

4. The shield of faith

Faith is what we quench every flaming arrow of the enemy with. It is the perfect antidote against driving out the enemy’s weapon of fear from your life.

What is he making you afraid of? What lies is the enemy whispering in your ears? You have no money in your pocket and don’t know where the next meal is going to come from?

To that, let your weapon of faith fight back and declare, “My God shall supply ALL of my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus and I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed out begging for bread.”

5. The helmet of salvation

We are saved by the blood of the Lamb. It is Christ’s blood that has purchased our redemption. No more aliens and strangers to the promise, but redeemed from the curse of the law, from death, hell and the grave.

God answers prayers

6. The sword of the Spirit

This is God’s word! It is truth and it is life. It is our only hope of salvation. We must equip ourselves with the word of God to know which word in the bible to use to counter the devil’s plan of defeat.

7. Prayer – spirit of prayer

Prayer is among the Christian believer’s most powerful weapon. We must resolve to pray in the spirit on all occasions and with all kinds of prayers and requests to God. We must also be alert and pray for all of the Lord’s people, and not just for our immediate family. God answers prayers!

Let us Pray

Dear Lord, we ask for your divine protection as we declare the sun shall not smite us by day nor the moon by night. Clothe us in your whole armour as we further declare that your blood covers us (body, soul and spirit). We walk in dominion and authority according to your word and establish this decree that we are heirs with you and joint–heirs with Jesus Christ.

We move synchronized and syncopated according to your divine will that we are Ambassadors in the earth, we represent you as the King of kings and Lord of lords and that all things must come into subjection to obey your word and that power that is within us.

We thank you that we are the elect of God, we are a chosen generation, a priestly and a holy nation. We further declare that we are the accepted and the beloved in Christ and a people who have been called out of darkness into your marvellous light to show forth your praises. We are more than conquerors. We bear the mark of Jesus Christ in our bodies, for old things have passed away and all things have become new.

Today as your children, we stand having on your whole armor: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, truth to girth our loins and our feet they are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and we carry the sword of your Spirit which is your word. Now we thank you that all of the enemy’s plans are nullified, rendered void and ineffective against us and we have the victory in Jesus name, amen. .

  1. This is a great post! I love the detailed way in which each spiritual weapon was presented. As Christians, we definitely have to be watchful and pray, especially in these end times. Many come as wolves in sheep clothing and if we lack the spirit of discernment, we would be in deep trouble.

So with your permission, I would like to add to these weapons of warfare, ‘The spirit of discernment.’ God bless you!

    • Hi Janelle

Thanks for your contribution. I am in total agreement with you. There is no time like that of now where we need to be able to discern the time and season that we are in. There is no room for compromise. We must remain vigilant and watchful, for we have an adversary who is about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. It is our duty to continue to pray for one another, AND to bear each other’s burdens. It is a Christian’s duty.

      God bless you also!
