Give Us Strength To Finish The Journey

Life will not always go the way that you planned it. You will have battles, some you will win and some you will loose. You will experience set-backs and disappointments and friends who you thought you could count on will turn their back on you.

It is then you will need to reach deep inside of you to draw strength and courage to continue the journey of life.Β The following prayer is one that brings encouragement and hope for me and I hope as you read it, that it will do the same for you.

Let’s pray

Heavenly Father we come to your throne of grace as humbly as we know how, yet boldly as it is your will for our life. Glory, honor and praise be yours today and forever more. Be merciful to us and we thank you for your loving kindness towards us. We thank you for this brand new day and the fact that you have spared our life.

We give you all of our weaknesses and frailties in exchange for strength and your wisdom. Thank you for reminding us that your grace is sufficient, and your strength is made perfect in weakness.

Grant us the courage to run the race with patience and to keep us in remembrance of your word that you who begun a good work in us, shall complete it to the very end of life’s journey and to the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord by the power of your Holy Spirit you said you are able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless with exceeding joy before the presence of your glory. Let your refining fire go through our heart, purge us and wash us in the blood of the Lamb once again. Forgive us for all our sins and be Lord of our life in Jesus name, amen.

    • Hi Philip

Your thoughtfulness in leaving these kind words of encouragement has done us well knowing for sure that God only can give us the helping hand that we need in our times of weakness and frailties. So true also as I have heard said before that the arm of flesh will fail us, but Jesus never fails. God bless you and thanks for stopping by.

Wow this prayer and promise the joy of Lord is my strength was right on time. I was challenged this week with attacks at work and in my marriage but I read just the title and it began to jump start something in my spirit God is so awesome I had to take my focus off of issues and place my focus on Him alone. Thank you for this post

    • Hi Angela

Welcome to EMB! πŸ™‚ I am so encouraged by this your testimony and that you decided to share it. The word of God is true that we overcome the wicked one by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.

I was deeply challenged myself as I was writing this post and I was just so amazed as to how God worked in me and through me since then to help me to overcome. He is an on time God and He sent His word so that we could be encouraged, and healed in our spirit as we take our mind off the issues. Let us give all the glory, honor and praise Him.

Continue to have a blessed day/week ahead. Cheers! πŸ™‚

  4. Love this article!! The encouragement is most needed during these days of unrest we as believers in Christ have this most blessed hope in Jesus!!!

    • Hi Maureen

Glad that you were encouraged. I agree that there is so much unrest and that we have to hold fast to the profession of our faith in Christ and where we have a blessed hope. Have a great day. πŸ™‚

    Hi Yvonne,

Thank you for sharing with most powerful prayer. You are so correct in that life will not always go our way. We will have trials and tribulations and at times lose faith. We may even find that the people we thought were our friends turn their backs on us.

But if it is one thing that remains true and that is God loves us unconditionally and he wants to communicate with us, we just have to be willing to do so with him. Isn’t it wonderful to know that no matter how bad we may mess up, God loves us unconditionally and accepts us just as we are.

He is constantly refining us unto his image. Sometimes we are harder on ourselves than we have to be and God on the other hand has his arms open and is protecting us as we go through the good times and bad. This prayer is so powerful and reminds me of how important it is to stay connected with him each and every day.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Nate

It is so good to see you again and I thank you so much for this additional boost of encouragement. It has done me well as it is also a sterling reminder you have shared that no matter how bad we mess up that God loves us unconditionally and accepts us just as we are. That is the hope that we have in Him and that which we must share with others who are so desirous and have that deep longing to experience genuine love in their heart and life.

I do have a tendency to be very hard on myself – and sure enough God is still working on me with that as you have readily reminded us of. He is the source of our strength and for sure let us stay connected to Him.

Blessings and have a great weekend. πŸ™‚

  7. Hi Yvonne,

That is so beautifully written πŸ™‚

You are right…things are never the same, and this is life. It has it’s share of ups and downs, twists and turns. What you think will work, never does, and who you think will be beside you through thick and thin, turn their back on you.

I agree, we need to go deep within to draw the strength and courage to carry on, and with His blessings the courage come to live right through it all, to go from one day to the other. And you are doing such a great service to people, so you are definitely blessed.

Thanks for sharing, and hope you have a relaxing weekend πŸ™‚

    • Hi Harleena

It is so good that we are able to connect..after my brief hiatus. πŸ™‚ I need all the strength that I can get at this time for sure. It is a wonderful feeling when we can draw strength from each other and feel the love of family and a friend like you have been.

I appreciate you and thank you for all the encouragement that you have been giving. God bless you and have a blessed weekend also.
