As I get closer to the end of what has been my longest vacation period since I have been in the workforce, memories of my youthful days are coming back to me. I am going back to a job that I had been away from for a while. Am I anxious?Am I looking forward to the arrival of the next couple of days?

I know one thing is for certain and that is it will take a while to get the momentum going once again. 🙂 I will miss doing all of the fun things I did while on vacation.

It’s somewhat different for new college graduates. Students are eager to go out and find the right job so that they can have a very successful career. Some are a bit afraid especially that they do not have the perfect job lined up for them as yet. Others might even be worried that they won’t get the best jobs simply because they lack experience. They are I am sure eagerly looking for advice.

What a great infographic! It is important for us to choose something that “fits” and not take on something just because we want to make money. For me, what is most important is people and management.

I like to be surrounded with creative thinkers and people that are just inspiring to be around. As for management, it is important that someone can manage a group of people with respect and dignity.

  Money is not all and I will choose happiness and job satisfaction any day over it. Most people seem to prefer people and the management aspect as well. For me, I am interested in flexibility, opportunities and people. Although Job title seems cool but to me, it is just a title.

I find this post to be a tremendous one, honestly. For most people in my country there are no jobs to choose from. So the major goal for working is usually to survive, [ay the bills and escape.

However, I like the way you talked about focusing on the most important things instead of just money. There are still times when people can get these wonderful opportunities and it is nice to be able to know the things that should matter.

  Welcome to my blog! I am happy to see you here in the neighborhood and I am pleased that you found the post beneficial. I agree it is different from one country to another and jobs are somewhat limited in terms of choices. So yea it’s whatever one can get to do for an income to pay the bills.
  
  I also believe that having the right attitude in terms of not focusing on the money part of it is significant just as you mentioned. Job satisfaction matters.

Visiting your blog after a small break. I am glad I have landed on this post. Wonderful infographic by Brian Tracy. The infographic explains the difference of job and career in a subtle manner. Many people have confusion between these two terms.
Out of 7 things, I give more preference to opportunities and flexibilities. Suppose a newcomer enters into a top MNC. If he is able to get the right amount of opportunity and exposure, he won’t be able to excel properly. Flexibility is really important. Richard Branson is the one of the coolest entrepreneurs of our time. He doesn’t follow 9-5 principle. He gives his employees lot of flexibility. It helps in increasing the bond between the employer and employee.

This is an excellent post and the infographic!

What I would care the most, are the following:

3- Opportunities
5- People
6- Environment
7- Management

Most important one is the people. When they are good and nice, you can do so good at your job. Bad people with bad attitude, you cannot maintain the focus to do your job and may end up easily to quit it despite how much opportunities you foresee, job title and all the other factors.

  I love your choices. We want to check out every opportunity for upward mobility on the job and we also want to keep our options open. No one wants to be stuck. 🙂 Our environment must also be one that is conducive to high levels of productivity while at the same time be fun.
  
  I know there are lots of good bosses around and the management structure is excellent in terms of creativity, spontaneity, and them being able to move folks to get the work done but at the same time there are some terrible bosses. SO one has to be careful in doing their research and finding out as much as they can about the job, people etc before choosing to work at such a place.
