There Is Great Triumph In Your Affliction
The Apostle Paul wrote, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:17
Today I am also reminded of what Helen Keller once wrote which has striking similarities to what the Apostle was alluding to in the scripture in his own moments of trials and affliction. Keller said, “I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work, and God.”
You may not have the courage to utter the same words as they did but I want you to know that it does not matter the difficulties you are experiencing in your life right now, know that there is triumph in your affliction.
It could be a physical illness, but there is healing for your body, soul and spirit. It may be that you have lost a loved one however take courage that there is comfort for those who mourn.
You may be in financial distress and drought as nothing positive seem to be happening for you but let us not forget some of the greatest people in the world or those who died, have been in a handicapped state.
Therefore, do not lose heart. Though our outward, physical self and our earthly possessions seem to be washing away, our inner self is being renewed daily by the grace of God.
The momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison or even man’s natural comprehension.
And as you go through you make it easier when you do not focus on the things that are seen but on those things which we cannot see with our natural eyes. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
My prayer is that God will give you grace to triumph in your affliction.
