“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
Fear and anxiety are among the top weapons and devices that our adversary the devil uses against us on a daily basis. We constantly have to be on guard, this according to 1 Peter 5:8 which says, “Be alert and of a sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.”
What makes people afraid or anxious? There are varying circumstances that causes the activation of the spirit of fear and anxiety in your life and before you know it, you break out in a sweat and your heart beats out loud and pounds against your chest with such a weight and heaviness that you are now unable to control.
Kelly Balarie says, “Anxiety speaks like a dictator and lives in bondage…Anxiety is an invasive bully. It gets in your face and then under your skin, telling you you’re about to face ruin.”
While that is true about what anxiety and fear does to you, the powerful truths of Jesus Christ can never be denied that there is no fear in love and that God’s love in you will cast out every bit of fear and anxiety. So let us pray and trust God for the manifestation of His word in your heart this and everyday.
Heavenly Father in all your glory, majesty and splendour we praise your great name. We bless you for your mighty acts and for your infinite grace, goodness and mercy towards us. We honor you and thank you for your infinite wisdom that has crafted the blueprint for our lives, including your plan of salvation through your Son Jesus Christ.
Lord God we stand on your word in 2 Timothy 1:7 that you did not give us a spirit of fear and because of our belief in your work we boldly and confidently reject every appearance or evidence of fear and anxiety in our lives. We claim and we activate your word that you gave us power, love and a sound mind.
We confess that we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16) and we live with the expectation that all our thoughts, words and actions are in alignment with your word and there will be a manifestation of this by the spiritual and physical fruits we bear.
We now take every ungodly, unholy, twisted and perverted thoughts into captivity. We pull down strongholds of the enemy and we demolish every arguments and every pretension that sets itself against the [true] knowledge of God and we bring every contrary mind and thoughts into obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Through faith, we clothe ourselves in your whole armour and declare ourselves being ready and able to withstand every fiery darts of the enemy. We further declare through Christ’s death on the cross we have the victory. We abide in you as you abide in us so that whatever we ask in your name will be granted to us. (John 15:4) We thank you Father God that you are perfecting all the things that concerns us.
We are grateful to you because your love has been perfected in us and because of your perfect love, fear and anxiety are gone from us today (1 John 4:18) in Jesus name, amen.
