The Power Of The Spoken Word Over Your Life

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. (v) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” ~ Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) 

The best form of worship you can give to God is your obedience to His word and submission to His Holy Spirit, His will, His plan and the offering up [setting apart] of your body with all its instrument (eyes, ears, mouth, hands, feet etc) as a living sacrifice. That becomes the true and proper worship that is acceptable in the eyes of God.

The world has many superficial values and customs. To say the least, they are enticing and can draw you away from the faith, causing you to compromise on godly morals. There are traditions of men that span over many generations, some of which have become strongholds in the lives of many, subjecting them to bondage and sin.

But I want you to know that it is in your submission that you are transformed and the pattern and viewpoint of the world, the ways and strongholds of the flesh and the world’s way of handling situations are broken from your mind.

So as you meditate on this word, do so in faith believing in the progressive change and transformation that will come as a result. As you mature spiritually by the renewing of your mind, may you now begin to focus on godly values and ethical attitudes so that you may prove for yourselves, what the will of God is, that which is good, acceptable and perfect in His plan and purpose for you.
