A Choice To Make

Albert Einstein once said, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.”

While I do agree there is truth to his perspective, the bible on the other hand tells of two ways, – the straight and narrow way/road that leads the ones who takes it to eternal life in Christ, a promise of success, prosperity, and good health in the land and, the broad way that leads to destruction, chaos, confusion and death.

The other truth is, we all have been given a ‘free will’ to choose. We are not forced by another, and should not be forced to make choices in life. It is really up to us to make the right one. Once you and I have made a choice, everything, and I mean everything out there in the atmosphere, stratosphere, hemisphere and the entire universe conspires to make the choice that we have made happen.

Whatever we choose do have consequences for either good or evil, blessing or curse. There is absolutely no middle ground and no in between. The seeds that we sow today in the ground will bring forth its’ harvest in due time. Sometimes we experience seasons of difficulties and challenges without the realization that it’s from a decision or a choice that we made in the past that we are now receiving the fruit of.

Frederick F. Flack thoughts on choices is this: “Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and a place at which their lives changed significantly. Whether by accident or by design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us and a collaboration with events occurring around us, we are seriously forced to reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live and to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives.”

The point is, there is a choice that each one of us have to make. We choose to marry, then we must be prepared to face the challenges that comes in a marriage. The boyfriend/girlfriend continues to cheat and you make a choice to stay in the relations, then it makes no sense to go out and complain how cheat he is. Hello! You made the choice! We choose to be a single parent, then by all means raising a child on our own is not the easiest thing in the world, so choose wisely. There are persons who joined the organization after you and have been promoted and you are still stuck – not prepared to do anything to further qualify yourself, then be prepared to suffer the consequences or get additional training and qualification. You cannot walk in an open downpour of rain with your head/body uncovered and then blame it on the devil or start rebuking him because you catch the flu 24 hours later. A choice you made.

We’ve got to choose this day whom we will serve. No man can serve two masters, if not you will love one more and hate the other even more. God wants us all to have an intimate and personal relationship with Him. It is his deep longing and His desire for that to take place. Trusting God and making that choice to have Him as Lord of your life, to guide and direct you to make the right choices in your life is the best thing that anyone could ever do – its’ “A Choice To Make.”

  1. Oh ABSOLUTELY Chris! Could not agree with you more! I truly enjoy the articles that you post on your blog, they are truly motivating and uplifting. I have searched through it on occasions when I find myself needing that extra push and words of encouragement and have found it there, and which also bears witness to your faith in God. The quotes you have cited in your comment are also very inspiring.

Blessings and have a great day!

  2. That quote by Einstein you refer to is one of my favorites. I've blogged about it here:

Another of my favorites is by Saint Thomas Aquinas:
“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.”

Both tell a similar story, that we can't live a life without faith and be fulfilled. My OWN faith is so strong and I have so much of it that I can't keep it all inside.:

Faith plays a HUGE part in my life as you can see from what I write about. I thank God each and every day for the gift he gave me. I wouldn't be here today if not for my faith.

    Thanks, Yvonne!

  3. Very well said Pastor Ava. The spirit of deception is rampant and lies in wait not just for the vulnerable ones, but based upon scripture, the very elect would be deceived if not careful. No longer can a man/woman halt between two opinions, a clear choice definitely has to be made between the narrow way or the broad way. One have benefits of blessings and the other consequences of destruction and death. My prayers for everyone that we are guided to make the right choice in life.

  4. We are indeed living at a crucial time in life when we must make a decision which will ultimately steer us into our desting. The choice is only one of two; Heaven or Hell…it cannot be both. We must decide whether we are for God or against Him. In these last days most people claim to be “christians,” but their lives scream the opposite. By our fruits we shall be known. I publicly declare that I choose the narrow way which leads to Life Eternal. I chose God Almighty. I choose to serve the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

  5. Dear EMoments reader, thank you for your contribution. Blessings!

It is part of human nature not to wait until our due season and therefore some end up making choices and decisions they would later regret. It is always best to wait that extra 'minute' than to live with regrets, guilt or shame.
