What’s Ahead Of You Is Better Than What’s Been
In spite of what forecasters say, I am optimistic about the future of what lies ahead. Deep within me is that strong conviction of great expectation. I am anticipating the best of what God has – it is about to come. Regardless of all that may have transpired over the past year/s: high and lows; good times and bad times; laughter or tears; success or failure; mountain top or valley experiences; sunshine or rain. So where does this deep conviction come from, you might ask? Well in case that was a questionable thought of yours, it would be most beneficial to all of us if I shared it with you.
So I am sitting on the edge of my bed, and immediately I received this free download into my spirit. It came as the title of this column today as “What’s ahead of you is better than what’s been.” I gladly received the thought but did not stop there. I then turned to the scriptures and was then led to read from the book of Joel 2. Having read it all, the verse that mainly stuck with me was verse 32 and I quote: “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.”
With that in mind, I am determined to end my year strong and you too must get ready to end your year strong while we accept reality that moving forward, it cannot be business as usual. The truth of the matter, we are living in an era where we are witnessing many nations in great distress and perplexities of problems that man nor secular government cannot solve.
There are kings in the earth right now who have swept power unto themselves and immunity from the judicial court of the land. There is greed and corruption in every land and every nation where the rich is hoping that the balance of power and wealth will remain in their hands while the poor and middle class citizens are burdened and strapped even more with high rates and taxes, while their income shrink even more. Much has been said about a ‘fiscal cliff’ and what must be done or not done to avoid persons from going over that cliff. What is a ‘fiscal cliff’ anyway? Can somebody explain that for me.
While I understand clearly that it is a metaphor to give more emphasis to the situation, I say to you that in the kingdom of God, there is no such thing as a ‘fiscal cliff.’ As long as you are a child of God, doing what He has called you to do, God will rebuke the devourer for your sake. (scrip ref. Malachi 3:10-11)
God wants His people to return to Him. (Hosea 6: 1-3) Many have backslid and are placing their trust in big governments that simply cannot help. God’s Spirit is the only one that quickens and give life to anything. The flesh or the world way of thinking and solving problems will profit us nothing. (John 6:63)
To solve today’s problems our mind set must also change. Our thinking have got to change in order for us the church/body of Christ to regain its’ momentum, to regain life, stability, credibility and even its relevance in our society as the only Government that God has established and recognizes here in the earth. (scrip. ref. Isaiah 9:6; Romans 13:1; Ephesians 4:11)
I say to us, it is indeed possible to have the best that life has to offer to us. It is possible to reap the harvest of joy, peace, financial abundance, wealth, good health, success, prosperity – you name it all! We must however take the first step. God will not hold anything against us if only we return to Him as the one true living God and make Him the Lord of our lives. We must return to the threshing floor of prayer and the place of true worship.
Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Just as the word says, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered. The balance of power shall return to you who have struggled but yet have stuck it out through the thick and the thin. It does not matter your title, position, or your status in society, you are part of that whosoever. Prove God through this word and watch Him do a life transforming work in your life, that will demonstrate to the world that most assuredly, what’s ahead of you is far better than what’s been!
Kingdom blessings!
Come on now Chris, what you have just shared you are speaking directly to me as well! I receive it by faith. And I do love that quote of yours that: “Everything will be alright in the end, and if it isn't, then it's not the end.”
With your permission, I will feature this quote on this blog and also on my Life Quotes page.
Be blessed and have a great day!
Hi Yvonne:
Just jumped off the phone w/my best friend who has some challenges ahead for her. I keep telling her, keep whispering in her ear one of my favorite quotes of late:
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it isn't, then it's not the end
I sincerely believe this, just as I believe that God has our best interests at heart. He will give us only what we can handle. No more. If we seem to have many challenges then we are stronger than we know. We have to have an ongoing dialog with God to understand this however. For it is those of us who have a personal relationship with HIM that survive all that is thrown at us.
I thank God every day that I have such a strong faith, that I do carry on a daily conversation with HIM all the time. It is this faith that has carried me through so many of my own challenges.
