The 3 P’s On Your Journey To An Empowered Life

“There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.” ~ Napoleon Hill
There was a time in my life that I was totally ignorant of what it meant for me to be fully developed and to become the person that God really intended me to be, much less to know what it meant to live an empowered life. Many of my past experiences were from my perspective, unbearable. I even equated them with strokes of bad luck, worst yet, curses on my family. Nothing made sense to me. At times I was very confused.

Other times it was living life aimlessly and just waiting for the next bad thing to happen. Not knowing any different, I thought of the experiences as the norm. Why not? I looked at my peers, and others in the neighbourhood and they too seemed to be having pretty much the same situations that I was having. There were no dots to be connected – just a series of events, incidents, occurrences in our lives that were totally independent of each other.

But now, coming out of that ‘dark age’ I realize that there are three very important steps that each one of us would have to take on this journey to an empowered life. How badly do you want it? What are you willing to give up or rather take up yourself that you may have it?

The 3 P’s that makes up the 3 steps

Believing that you too are desirous of living a life of liberty, success and empowerment, just as much as I am desiring all of those things, I share with you the 3 P’s.

1) Purpose
The most basic questions we ask ourselves and struggle to find the answer to is, why am I here? What is the purpose for my life? Without that kind of knowledge and the true meaning of it, your life begin to appear like a revolving door and worst yet, a roller coaster.

It is imperative then that each one of us understand what our purpose is in life. God made each one of us special, in His image and after His likeness for God’s pleasure and so your first purpose is to offer real worship unto God. He formed us and made us a part of His extended family here on this earth and by that, God expects to enjoy real fellowship with you.

It is to bring glory and honor to His name, to be more Christ-like in His nature and character and so to learn real discipleship. We were shaped for serving God and each other and by practicing real ministry, we evangelize to the lost and bring them to Christ. Just imagine how liberated you can become, knowing that you are serving and fulfilling your purpose and building up God’s kingdom here on earth.

2) Process
Diamonds are exquisite and said to be a girl’s best friend. It is the desire of her heart to own that beautiful piece of gem but have you ever given thought to the process that it had to go through in order for its real beauty to shine. Perhaps you never stopped to think of the scrubbing, washing, scraping, sanding and the fire it had to go through before the jeweler looks at it and considers it one of his most costly, prized possession.

So it is that God allows a sequence of interdependent trials, testing, tribulation and storms in our lives which at every stage, is designed to bring us closer to Him, to strengthen us and help us to grow while He allows the true inner beauty within us to shine for all the world to see.

3) Pain
There would be no process and a matriculation of your purpose in life without some degree of pain and discomfort. There are times you would weep and you will experience sadness. You will have to deal with people who you once thought were your friends but who have turned their backs on you when you are faced with your trials. But the good news is, weeping endure for a night but after the tears and the pain, joy and happiness comes in the morning.

Wrap up..

One day, you will look back and realize that you never would have made it, had it not been the Lord on your side. You are left feeling empowered, and in control of your life again. It would seem you are on top of the world, shining as the light from the hilltop that you were meant to be! You will experience what true empowerment means, being in the driver’s seat once again!

  1. Ava thanks as always for stopping by, leaving a comment and your kind words of encouragement. I will admit it was not always easy for me going through any of these. I used to think life was just cruel, that people were mean and hateful. But the more God helped me to understand that it's for my good and not to destroy me, and also for His glory, the more accepting I became and comfortable enough today that I can write about it.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Yes!!!I know that there is something called “process.” Many times we dont want to go through the process but we want to become the end product overnight. We shurk from process to avoid the pain. but as the song says..”no pain, no gain.”
Great post as usual. Blessings Minister Wilson.
