Prayer For Marriages (REMR-12)

“Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled.” (Hebrews 13:4) Today dear Lord we lift up before you marriages. We acknowledge you first as the Lamb and the bridegroom that is come, and we the church as your bride, made ready to meet you. We ask that by the power of your Holy Spirit and your anointing, sanctify us afresh today that we are spotless, without blemish and without wrinkle. We dedicate our marriage to you, and we declare our marriage to be honourable and the bed undefiled.

We confess your word over our marriage that there is no bitterness or strife between our spouse, neither is there any anger, fussing, fighting, evil speaking, malice or any ill-will towards each other. We confess that we are faithful to each other, that we walk together in love, that our love is patient and long, we are kind towards one another, we do not seek to please ourselves, but to please the other. We declare Father God that it’s the love we share for one another that covers a multitude of faults and mistakes between us.

According to your word in Isaiah 54; 17, no weapon that is formed against our marriages (spiritually or physically) shall be able to prosper against us in any way. By the authority of your word, the blood of Jesus Christ and your Holy Spirit, we cast down every imagination that is against our marriage. We cast down every high thing that attempts to exalt itself between us. Lord we bring into captivity every thought that is against the will of God for our marriage and bring them to the obedience of of Christ. Every evil/negative word every spoken against our marriage shall fall to the ground and be as nothing.

We are mindful of those whose marriage may be experiencing difficulties, who are faced with spousal abuse and need healing and wholeness once again. Help them to forgive one another as Christ has forgiven us and love us. May husband love their wife as Christ love the church and is in union with it. May wives submit themselves to their own husband. Let your river of grace flow through, to touch, heal and deliver their marriage from ungodly ties and strongholds of the enemy. By faith Lord, we believe that you have heard our prayers and we thank you in advance for what you have done in Jesus’ name, amen.
