From A Place Of Being Broken, To Triumph and Greatness

I am taking a moment today to reflect on life. As I am doing that, it suddenly dawned on me just how fragile life really is.

I see her as a delicate flower. Fragrance petals. The color of the rainbow. Beautiful. At times, lucid or impenetrable to light.

Then as the morning breaks into day, I begin to smell the wetness of the dew drops. Her air is moist, cool and so refreshing as I inhale the burst of tiny molecules that is not visible to the human eyes.

The crickets, I hear the loudness of their whistles and they are joined by the birds as they tweet and chirp in a melodious harmony – I begin to wonder about the lyrics of their song as they sing to anyone who would take the time to listen.

But then the sun peaks its head above the horizon. There are beautiful rays of sunshine, and just before the sun sets into submission to the light of the starry sky, the flower bows its head. It fades into a silent retreat and the life of the flower is whiffed away into a state of unconsciousness.

She [life] becomes the subject of ridicule, or so it seems. She is taunted by the surrounding elements. Then right there in the midst of such indignity and humiliation, she appears weak in the eyes of her attacker. Sickness plagues her body. Now, sadness.

The nuts and bolts that holds her joints are let loose and her frame crumbles.

At the center of life, her heart becomes burdened with with grief. Her soul bleeds with pain because once again death sunk its ugly teeth into her delicate tissues, rips through her very core and leaves holes into her flesh like a child punching holes into play dough.

So you see, life is indeed fragile. She is delicate. Yet deep within lies her innocence through the promise of a new life and one that you must be willing to discover.

MY OPEN LETTER TO YOU

So, I write this open letter to you. Yes, you. Be honest with yourself. You exist but don’t seem to know where you are going. You who have been going around in circles. You have exhausted all your options but still don’t know what to do next.

You tried something, just anything but still don’t have a clue how it would end up. Don’t feel bad because I was once at that place in my life. I was spiritually deaf, dumb and clueless. My life back then was based on trial and error. It was about whatever worked for me and gave me a quick fix, without even thinking about the long run.

But no matter the situation or the circumstances of life that you are faced with today, know that –

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the stream whereof make glad the city of God…God is in the midst of her; she shall not not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.” (Psalm 46:1-5)

So take courage and find your strength in God. When your light turn into darkness and things look black and threatening, comfort comes not at the end, but in the middle of your experience.

Be encouraged to take comfort in God as the only one who can bring you from a place of brokenness to the point of you being made whole. You will overcome. You will triumph in God and mount up on wings like an eagle.

Take refuge in His presence. By faith, see God appearing on your behalf. See God as your help, a present help, and a found help, as the word of God implies.

In order to triumph over your greatest dangers, see God as the only one who is all-sufficient. Divorce yourself from fear and what is past. It is your duty according to the word of God to do so. For God did not give you a spirit to fear but of power, love and a sound mind.

It is your privilege to be fearless, it is an evidence of a clear conscience, of an honest heart, and of a lively faith in God and His providence and promise.

Therefore, be of good courage and be of good cheer. God sees your tears. He sees your hurt and discouragement. He sees your frustration. He sees your pain and grief. He knows your struggles. He sees your weakness and your fragility. He sees your discomfort, but He is right there and He is your only refuge and strength.

FINAL THOUGHTS…

Rest in God’s peace and assurance that if it pleases Him not to deliver the body from temporal death, yet in His mercy and His grace, He will deliver the soul from spiritual and eternal death. Our souls must wait on God and rely on Him. We must rejoice in God and trust in His holy name so that you and I can go from that place of being broken to the point of triumph and greatness.

PRAY THIS PRAYER WITH ME

Father God, we thank you for our spared lives and for salvation that has come through the shed blood of your Son Jesus Christ. We thank you for not casting us away. We thank you redeeming our life from destruction, death, hell and for raising us up once again from that place of being discouraged, sad and broken to triumph and greatness.

Everything that the enemy meant for evil, God we are thankful that you have made it for our good and for your glory. Remember the down-trodden and those who are in anyway afflicted and persecuted.

We especially remember the young girls who were abducted in Nigeria and who are still missing. We pray for their families, we pray for the little child and his pregnant Sudanese Christian mother who have been unlawfully imprisoned and punished for her faith and belief in you and we lift up everyone else who are suffering in whatever way. God we know you are able, you will rule justly in their favor and they will be set free in Jesus name, amen.
