Pope Issues Strong Words To The Calabrian Mafia…

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis is said to have concluded his one-day trip to the southern Italian region of Calabria on Saturday (June 21), but not before issuing strong words to the Calabrian mafia, calling it “adoration of evil and contempt for the common good,” this according to source
“Those who in their lives have taken this evil road, this road of evil, such as the mobsters, they are not in communion with God, they are excommunicated,” said Pope Francis while being applauded by the large crowd.
Pope Francis also met the father of a 3-year old boy who was shot back in January along with one of his grandfathers and his grandfather’s girlfriend, in an attack blamed on drug turf wars in the nearby town of Cassano all’Jonio. The attackers torched the car with all three victims inside.
The Vatican Radio reported that he encouraged the faithful believers, and told them his trip was intended to express his support for the local church, to confirm the people in faith and charity and to encourage them in their journey with Jesus Christ.
In other news, the Vatican Radio has reported that next Friday, June 27th 2014, on the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the 90th Catholic University day, Pope Francis will visit the Rome’s “Agustino Gemilli” Hospital, celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the faculty of medicine and surgery of the Catholic University.
