15 Great Motivational Quotes and Sayings To Lift You Up Higher

Everyone needs motivation and inspiration in one form or the other. This statement is especially true when life seems to be falling to pieces around us.

Your heart thumps with heaviness and you can’t seem to find your way because darkness overshadows you.

You are unable to rationalize and to think straight. Even more so, your thought process is obscured with thick, dark clouds of fear and uncertainty.

You begin to ask yourself ‘where did I go wrong?’ ‘Did I miss the red flags or the warning signs to let me know that danger was imminent?’

If you are at that place right now and is feeling disconnected from your dreams, purpose and your goals, may the words of great men and women who themselves have gone through some extremely tough times, cause us to push and find the strength to lift us higher and not give up.

6.) “Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.” ~ David J. Schwartz

8.) “There is a difference between talented people and gifted people. Talented people are good AT something; Gifted people ARE that something.” ~ Steve Maraboli

  1. Hello Madam Yvonne,

There is of course no doubt these are indeed great quotes. My favourite among the list has to do with that of Waldos; “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”

    That is lovely!

    • Hi Kabie

Welcome to the neighborhood. 🙂 I love #8 as well. It’s a reminder of how much the power to choose is within us. At the end of the day if we let the opportunities pass us by then we have no one else to blame but ourselves, don’t you think?

Thanks for leaving this comment. Have a blessed week.

  2. Hi Yvonne,

I agree with Ikechi – I am lifted higher just by reading these awesome quotes 🙂

I think we can never really do anything if we are not inspired or motivated, we need them to drive us, don’t we? Yes, we all go through the down times in life, but it’s quotes and sayings like these that keep us moving, and in the process, we help uplift others too.

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend 🙂

    • Oh definitely Harleena! It doesn’t matter how good we are or what our position is in life, we need that little push from others such as in quotes to get us inspired and motivated to get us on our feet again and to move on. As you mentioned it becomes a driving force for us.

I was having one of those days and I found so much encouragement through these quotes. We really never know what turn life will take for us. We can only hope for the best.

Blessings and have a great week ahead.

  3. Hi Yvonne

I am lifted higher already reading this post. What can man be without motivation and inspiration. I also observed quote no 8 and struggled with it, till I gave it a thought and now understand what it means.

These quotes are wonderful and will definitely change the lives of people. Thanks for sharing.

    • I am happy with the selection of quotes Ikechi knowing that they had a direct positive impact upon you. It seems like a coincidence that as I am writing that I too need some encouragement. Life is like that at times, isn’t it?

It’s good that you were able to figure out #8 🙂 Being talented, you learned and mastered the art of doing something. Being gifted, you were born that way, whatever you do comes natural and you did not learn it. Continue to enjoy your weekend.

    Hi Madam Yvonne,

I agree with you that everyone needs motivation and inspiration, most especially in times of difficulties, when all our efforts seems not to be yielding good fruits. These quotes compiled by you are indeed motivational and inspirational and would go a long way in changing the lives of many.

I’m a little bit confused about the quote number 8 – the difference between Talented and Gifted people. I will be happy if you will be able to throw some light on that.

Thanks for sharing such a life changing article.

    • Hi Ngwu

Glad that you found the collection of quotes helpful. Now the difference between someone being talented and gifted is simply this:

Talented people: They have an ability that allows them to do something well. It is something they learn over time and can do it well.

Gifted people: They have a special gift that they were born with. It is not something they learn. It is a gift within them hence the reason I believe the author referred to them as being that something.

Hope this helps. Have a blessed day/
