Don’t Settle For Less When ‘More Than Enough’ Awaits You

You cannot win any game unless you are seriously committed to winning! Winning takes hard work, it takes dedication and much perseverance. There are those days when you would finish an assigned task and your face could become blemished by all the sweat, blood, tears and even the dust of the ground as you strive towards the mark and the prize of the high calling that God has established for you. And, getting towards the finish line could also mean a few stumbles, a fall or two, perhaps many falls but you should never settle for staying down in the rut, or accepting less than, when so much more awaits you. You  were born to win! You are destined to overcome! Every problem or trial that you encounter, God has already designed it so that you win.

I personally want to take the time today to encourage you, to speak life over you and to declare that whatever God has for you, is for you and it cannot be reversed nor can it be overturned! It doesn’t matter what it looks like right now or even what it feels like, don’t settle for less than, when more than enough awaits you. It has already been established by God that absolutely no one can take your blessing nor your life in Christ from you and no one can hinder your progress and your destiny, except you allow it and settle for defeat.

I also want you to know that your current circumstance even if it appears bleak, do not determine your true identity of who you are in God, but rather it is an indication of where you are going! The truth is, no one will ever fight you or try to come against you when you are not doing right. They will do that only when they see that you are really meeting all of God’s expectations. But a friendly reminder according to God’s word in Isaiah 54: 17 is that no weapon formed up or fashioned against you shall prosper.

God’s winning plan for your life is already established. In His infinite wisdom, He specifically choose the ordinary person/s through which He does the extra-ordinary things through! He choose the usual and the common to do the unusual and the uncommon things through! He uses the foolish things and the base things to confound the wise and the prudent! He uses people that others consider of ‘low degrees’ than themselves and who they think are of little value to them that He can fill with His Holy Ghost power to perform the miraculous!

So the questions I ask, myself included, what is causing you to think or walk in defeat? Whose voice are you listening to that you are continually settling for less than? Whose ‘yardstick’ do you measure your standards against? Whose criteria do you go by to live your life? Or, whose expectations are you aiming at?

It is time for the WINNER in you to arise and shine! Arise to greatness and the dawning of a brand new day, with a new perspective and a new leash on life – with new hopes and dreams for a better future. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. The gifts that God has designed you with, are given so that you can use that creative power within you for the winning plan. You are the best version of you that God has created. No one else can do what He has called you and purposed for you to do in life.

I particularly liked what Chris Jennings Penders, Author of Wisdom And Life Blog said in comment on A Choice To Make, “Faith plays a HUGE part in my life as you can see from what I write about. I thank God each and every day for the gift he gave me. I wouldn’t be here today if not for my faith.” A winning attitude must definitely be mixed with faith. I do not believe that one would be possible without the other. They both go hand in hand.

I also like what Theodore Roosevelt advises on winning in this excerpt from a speech he gave in Paris at the Sorbonne in 1910: “It is not the criteria who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust, sweat, and blood, who strives valiantly, who err, and comes short again and again, who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends himself in a worthy cause, who at best knows the achievement and who at the worst if he fails at least fails while daring greatly so that his place shall never be with those cold and timed souls who know niether victory nor defeat.”

One final thought, in the words of the Apostle Paul who says, “Behold, I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51) My dear friends, I make this public declaration, we shall not die with our dreams but they shall come alive! Our full potential will be awakened so that others too will hope and believe in their own dreams and the same God who gave those dreams to us! Our destiny must be fulfilled. Don’t ever settle for less when more than enough awaits you!
