Thought For Today

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, bring peace for today, and create a vision for tomorrow. Melody Beattie

I am most grateful to God for
yet another chance to live. One year ago I was rushed to the ER with a dangerously high and life threatening blood pressure level. For three straight days, I experienced ‘death’ in the flesh. I saw my nakedness, I saw my ‘nothingness’ without God. Family could not help me. Friends left me. I was helpless to the point where in the dark, still night the thought occurred to me, “why not just kill yourself?” But today I live, it is not I that live, but Christ that lives in me. The life I now live, I live with faith and hope in God that my purpose for which I was created will be fulfilled according to God’s promise.

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” [Revelation 12: 10 – 11]

Let’s make this day special, a day to be most grateful! What are you most grateful for? If you prefer, the anonymous commenting is on. Either way, let me hear your thoughts.
