Prayer for Children [Part 2 of Our Children Are Dying]

In case you missed part 1 of the post Commentary: Our Children Are Dying, Are We Doing Enough To Protect Them, you can read it here. Today, I want to focus on specific prayer points and confessions from God’s word that we as parents and concerned citizens can pray daily for our children and young teens.

This is the next generation and we simply cannot afford to lose them to senseless tragedies as a result of gun violence and then have the perpetrators, who themselves are teenagers or young adults locked away in a penitentiary for years or even the rest of their life.

Here are the prayers, in no particular order that you can pray daily:

Prayer and confessions for children for guidance and protection

1.) Dear God, I speak your word with boldness and confidence that my children are a heritage from you and that they belong to you; therefore, Satan cannot have them, and neither can he have any place in their lives. (Psalm 127:3) I declare that they will not follow that which is evil or wrong, but they follow that which is wholesome and godly. (3 John 1:11)

2.) I confess according to your word written in Acts 11:14 that all of my children are saved, born-again, and living for the Lord. You have promised me in your word that you would save my entire house, including all of my children.

3.) I declare according to your word that my children love, honor, and respect their father and mother and elders, for this is the first commandment with promise. And with this promise, you promise them in return a long, healthy, and prosperous life. (Ephesians 6:2-3) May you grant me as a parent the grace, so that I shall not provoke them to wrath or anger, but to teach them and bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)

4.) I confess that as I have taught and trained my children in the word of God and ways of the Lord, as they grow older, they shall never be able to depart from the Lord, or depart from His ways and His word. (Proverbs 22:6)

5.) I trust in the Lord with all my heart concerning my children, and I do not lean to or rely on my own understanding. As I acknowledge the Lord in all my ways concerning my children, the Lord directs my path. He instructs me how to teach them, and He leads and guides me in giving them direction and instruction in life. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

6.) I confess that my children do not walk or live under the influence or counsel of those who are ungodly; nor do they live, talk or act like sinners to do evil, but I confess that they have joy and love for others and for hearing the word of God and that they meditate upon the word of God continually to do only what is right and pleasing in His sight. As a result of this, they are blessed and shall prosper like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water, which always bears good fruit and prosper in whatever they do in life. (Psalm 1:1-3)

Protection prayer

Father in the name of you Son Jesus Christ, we bring our children before you and ask for your divine protection from evil, every wicked plot, snares, devices and evil entrapment of the enemy Satan. Lord we ask that you cover them under your precious blood, build strong hedges about them and cause them to dwell in your secret hiding place so that they may abide under your Almighty wing and shadow of protection.

May the truth of your word instilled in them shield and hold them together and that they not be afraid of terror or danger seen and unseen. Even though they may see many fall victim to the different calamities or afflictions all around them, none of the calamities or afflictions shall come upon them because they have made you their dwelling place and habitation.

According to your word in Psalm 91, you have given your angels command to watch over, protect, and guard our children and because your angels are encamped in this continual hedge around our children, no hurt, harm or danger shall befall them. Help them to know that even when trouble come them, like David they can call upon you for help, and you shall answer and deliver them out of the hand of the enemy.

Cover them under your precious blood now Father. Protect from pedophiles, rapist, drug pushers, gangs, guns, violence and the spirit of death. We take authority over every demonic and diabolical spirit and render their works null, void, and cancelled as unfinished and failed plans back into the pit of hell. Let every fiery dart of the enemy be bent, broken and destroyed now!

Every plan of the enemy that’s designed to cut the lives of our children short, so that they abort or is unable to fulfill their godly assignment, we render those plans permanently impotent and ineffective.

We bind and destroy the spirit of fear and replace it with faith in Jesus Christ. We praise and thank you that we have the victory through Christ over sin, death, hell and the grave in Jesus name, amen.
