Blogiversary Post – EMB is Celebrating 3 Years Today
Exactly one year ago, Empowerment Moments Blog came into being. Yes, my blog is 3 years old today January 10th 2015. Blogging was not something that I had ever heard of or imagined, much less planned for so I cannot say a dream was realized.
I knew nothing, and the terminologies seemed far-fetched and foreign. All I knew, was that in my life I was at a point of desperation. I was sad and felt oppressed. Emotionally, I was at my lowest. I seriously thought about leaving the church.
I felt trapped in religion and stuck in tradition. I thought if that was the kind of love that church had to offer then I no longer wanted it. My soul and spirit rejected it, and I cried out to God. That’s when He answered and said who better to encourage yourself than you.
It’s no wonder then that my very first post, a single paragraph on January 10th 2012 was about true happiness.
The journey although incredible has been a long haul, and it has certainly not been without its challenges. This song below “Your Grace and Mercy” best explain my thoughts and emotions of the entire journey.
The Lessons I Have Learned
You will find in EMB’s second anniversary post the lessons I have learned over the years. I can also identify with some of the lessons shared by pro-blogger and commenting superstar Madam Harleena Singh here at Aha!NOW.
The Main Highlights of 2014
- EMB switched over from Blogger to WordPress.com on January 11th 2014 making exactly one year ago. That was a significant move which allowed much flexibility, helped us to gain more readers. It also generated a great increase in blog traffic and connected us to a large number of bloggers, many of whom I consider my online friends.
- Our very first magazine theme was purchased and after some minor customization, it went live in May 2014. Many of you have written to me and expressed how much you love the blog’s theme, layout, load speed, responsiveness, etc.
- Increased network and growing community – due to time constraints I had to turn down a few offers to guest post on other blogs. However, my first guest post was done over at Aha!NOW on August 20th 2014 entitled How To Cope With Teenage Pregnancy as A Parent The post was shared on social media 245 times and had a combined total of 41 comments. I consider it a great blessing to have been mentioned in a number of other blog posts across the web.
Harleena Singh – Freelance Writer, Owner of Aha!NOW and 1st place winner for top commentators on EMB for 2014
- Contributing Author to Becoming The Oil and the Wine and is Group Admin of the Family Life Network Group at Aha!NOW
- Special Mentions and congratulations- Harleena Singh for being the number 1 most active commentator with a total of 59 comments. In second place, was Pastor Ava Baird, Janelle Moore third place, Ikechi Awazie fourth place and Ngwu Chinedu Joseph fifth place. In case you missed this, read more in EMB’s 2014 blog report
- The post most commented on in 2014 entitled What Legacy Will You Leave Behind In The World was written by Harleena Singh
- Special Giveaway – First mega blog giveaway in November 2014 in which a number of persons won the opportunity to guest post on EMB. See them all here

Thank you Doreen. God bless you also. Continue to be encouraged. Have a great week.
Hi Yvonne,
Congratulations and celebrations on your blogiversary 🙂
What a wonderful achievement, and I can imagine how you must be feeling, having just had my own blog anniversary last month, as you already know. Awesome indeed!
You’ve surely achieved a great deal from the time you started to where you have reached now, and so, give yourself a pat on the back. Not to mention that you are always working, and to blog alongside, is commendable indeed.
Yes, your guest post on my blog was so wonderful and everyone loved it, a great lesson for all parents, learning through your experience. I didn’t know my legacy post got the most comments on your blog and I made the maximum number of comments – that feels good 🙂
You are doing so well being the Admin of the Family groups at the ABC, and even though you were a little busy last month, but we had Vernon helping out – and I guess you’d be back with a bang there soon.
I loved that song as well – good you shared it with us. It’s been a pleasure knowing you, though it seems like years, isn’t it? Wishing you every success and happiness for years to come.
Thanks for sharing this with us. Be blessed and happy always 🙂
Hi Harleena
Thank you for your kind words. I am encouraged by you and your presence here every time.
There is so much that I have learned from you over the past year and you too need to give yourself a pat on the shoulder. Who else could have known that our destiny in life would be so intertwined? Only God. He is faithful and I am indeed grateful like I am certain that you must feel as well for what He is doing in your life and that of Aha!NOW. So many of us look up to you. You are a wonderful role model and highly respected among so many of us.
God bless you and have a great week. 🙂
Congrats! Three yeas is a long time in the blog game! 😀
Not too long ago it became clear to me how much love, recognition and praise you bring into the lives of others. So I’m not amazed at the lives you have touched through your honest writing here at EMB. God showed YOU grace and mercy because He had a plan for you.
I have been following your blog for quite some time now and I know it took courage and trust to switch over from Blogger to WordPress. I say that because I had to make a similar move. But because of your leadership I stepped out on faith.
I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family.
Hi Vernon
Thank you. You know I recall so vividly when we first met online. I felt it ever since that God had a purpose and a plan in the way that we connected and have since been interacting. We have made it this far by faith – leaning and trusting in the word of God.
May God continue to enlighten you and give you the understanding and the strategy to go forth with the global mandate that is upon your life, May He pour the yoke destroying anointing into your ministry to touch the untouchable and reach the unreachable. Your words of love and hope will bring life and healing to many across the nations and to bring them into the saving grace and the knowledge of our dear heavenly Father, God bless you and your family. 🙂
Dear Yvonne,
Congratulations 🙂 Whenever I visit blogs such as yours I am inspired to persist and work hard to make sure mine succeeds too! God Bless and keep writing such great posts!
Cheers!
Nik

Hello Yvonne,
Oh how I loved that song – Thank you for sharing it! You have so much to celebrate. It was through Harleena’s blog that I met you and I am so thankful I did. I look forward to having a full year with you in 2015. We recently just connected but your blog has been such an inspiration to me as a man of God.
I have been so inspired and as you know I signed up on your list and am always looking for your next blog post. May God bless you and guide you to even higher successes in 2015.
Hi Nate
Thank you so much for your encouragement, also your kind and uplifting words. It is always good to connect with other believers of the faith and with persons such as yourself who are simply not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, making bold confessions whenever the opportunity lends itself to do so.
God has a way of doing things that just keeps on blowing our minds as His children. His thoughts and plans are unimaginable. His plans for 2015 is even greater than it was in 2014. May His favor and abundant blessings rest upon you and be made manifest in your life, in your family’s life and also in your entire household. It’s your time to shine brother. Cheers! 🙂

Congratulations. Hip Hip Hurray. EMB is 3 today. You certainly have achieved so much in three years. The Lord has used you to bless us and your generation. I am so happy to have known you and even though I got to know you close to the end of the year, I have never ever regretted such action. You are an inspiration.

Hi Ikechi
It goes without saying that God never make mistakes. Providence had it that we connected online with each other and have been a source of blessing and inspiration by what we both share.
May God continue to use these blog platforms and forum to bless nations worldwide and to bring honor and glory to His name. We could not have done it without Him and our continued support and encouragement to each other is much needed. God bless you and thanks for speaking favor into the atmosphere. Have a great weekend. 🙂
