The Power Of Words – Speak Healing for Victims of Ebola and Protection for Caregivers

The news today that a health care worker at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital have tested positive for Ebola after being involved in the care of Thomas Eric Duncan, the first diagnosed patient in the USA with Ebola and the first to have died there, was not totally unexpected from my vantage point.

Why? Having worked as a Nurse myself for some ten years and directly involved in the care of patients with highly infectious diseases, I came to realize later on that even after following protocols and procedures, that there was still that slim chance that the breach could have lapsed at some point along the way, and that infection through contact was a possibility.

Thankfully, that did not happen.

But today Ebola is spreading rapidly in the West African countries of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.

Over the past months and most recently, we have seen the many headlines on the subject such as “Ebola battle through nurse’s eyes,” “Is Ebola the Next AIDS?” to even “Ebola Joker Escorted from Plane.”

No matter how it is headlined, we cannot deny that this has become a serious epidemic. It is creeping through the backdoor, the front door and across borders in unsuspecting ways. It is causing some to panic while many others are reacting with fear.

Speak Healing for Victims of Ebola

It is time to make one thing absolutely clear and that is, Ebola is no respecter of persons.

So what do we do as blacks, whites, Americans, Asians, Africans, Hispanics, governments, CDC, health care workers, Christians and non-Christians alike?

Healing_Scripture

There is power in every word that we speak. I also believe that for each one having being taught properly in the use of God’s word and by exercising our faith, we can grow to a point where it will be a common thing that healing will come forth.

1.)  Jeremiah 17:14 says, “Heal me O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”

2.)  Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Read along with me this book: Prayers That Bring Healing: Overcome Sickness, Pain and Disease by John Eckhardt

3.)  ‘And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Then Jesus put His hand and touched him saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.’ [Matthew 8:2-3 (NKJV)] The word of God will heal and save countless lives.

4.)  “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” [Exodus 23:25  (NKJV)] Serve the Lord and healing will be yours.

5.)  “And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on those who hate you.” [Deuteronomy 7:15] God takes all sickness away from you.

6.)  “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns yu with loving-kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. [Psalm 103: 1-5] One of God’s benefits is healing.

7.)  “He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” [Psalm 107:20]

8.)  “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord. “Because they called you and outcast saying, This is Zion; no one seeks her.'” [Jeremiah 30:17]

For some of you, it may take some time to develop your faith. For others of us, it’s only a matter of time after we come together as a united voice and begin to speak God’s word into the atmosphere that healing will begin to manifest in the West African countries, Spain, and those affected in the USA.

In this video, you will find more healing scriptures that will encourage you and for you to use as a daily confession to increase your faith and to bring about healing.

To every west African country stricken with Ebola and to Spain and Texas where persons have contracted the disease, believe that God will restore your health. Your sickness will leave and will not come again and so shall you give testimony to the world of your healing that has come forth by the hands of the Almighty God.

  1. I remember when Ebola was in Nigeria, there was confusion everywhere. People were so scared to even touch each other. I remember that I had to write about the impact of Ebola but I knew that God was going to take control of the situation. Thankfully he did and we don’t have issues with Ebola. When we speak and believe in his words, Healing comes. I believe that there will be healing in all the countries affected. Amen

    • Hi Ikechi

There is no question in my mind that God’s healing grace will abound and flow through the affected areas in west Africa and bring and any other place to bring about a wave of healing in the nations. He keeps His word and His promises.

Part of the enemy’s tactics is to instill fear in the lives of people worldwide and bring about panic. But we know that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Thankfully the situation was quickly abated in Nigeria.

  2. Prayer can do so much, and knowing that our faith can not only help heal (through words) but give strength to those on the front lines fighting this virus. Not only do I pray for the victims of this deadly virus, but I pray for the officials in these countries to help contain it and for the volunteers who are on the front lines. Even if we are not able to be there in person, we are with them in spirit, and they need our prayers for sure!

    • I totally agree with you there Kalley. Service to our country is also about doing simple acts of kindness such as praying for those out there risking their own lives to save someone else’s and to pray for elected officials.

Prayers do have far reaching effects.

    Hello Madam Yvonne,

I love this post, i love the bible references contained in it.

Ebola has posed a big threat to the lives of the inhabitants of West Africa. In Nigeria where i come from, people now find it difficult to touch or shake hands with each other as a result of the Ebola Scare. Just as you have revealed; there is power in spoken words, we should speak words of healing and remain prayerful as well.
Who says there is no cure for Ebola?
God is the mighty physician, the great doctor. All we need do is trust and believe in him, and he will definitely deliver us of this deadly disease.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful post with us. Have a nice time!

    • Hi ferdiklint

It is sad that the fear of Ebola has resulted in people not wanting to display simple acts of affection or appreciation for each such as in a touch or a hand shake. For sure one things is clear and remain regardless of the situation – God is still in the business of healing and working miracles. Our faith and our [positive] spoken words will prompt Him to act on our behalf. Have a pleasant day.

  4. This is such a timing and needed post for me. Sometimes I think about the victims and pray for them only to feel later like I haven’t done enough. These scriptures reminds me how powerful my prayers are. Thanks.

    • Hi Vernon

I think that is something we all go through in life – the feeling like we have not done enough especially when we are praying for others. But then faith always have a way of stepping in and that is enough to override doubts and fears. Have a blessed week ahead.

  5. Hi Yvonne,

You are SO right – there is great power in the words and in our thoughts too 🙂

It pains my heart to see so many victims fall prey to this dreaded diseases and while we can do nothing, sitting from our ends, we certainly can pray for such victims and hope that they recover soon, which they will if they keep the faith.

Faith in the Almighty is known to move mountains, and just as you mentioned, God will restore your health, if you believe. Yes, sometimes that isn’t possible, but then perhaps it was destined to happen and such was what His plans were, to which you have to submit humbly, isn;t it?

Thanks for sharing this with us and creating more awareness. Happy new week 🙂

    • Hi Harleena

Our faith can be tested and tried in so many ways and this is just one of those occasions when we can all agree that while we are being put to the test, we are weak and helpless to the situation with not one cure for this deadly disease. I think we will have a breakthrough on that front sooner rather than later though. It is just a pity that so many lives have been lost before a cure can be discovered.

What’s left for us to do but pray and trust the Almighty for restoring health to His people? You made the point of submitting in a humble way. That I believe is key to the dawn of a new day when the earth will be healed of this plague.

Thanks for engaging in the discussion. Have a wonderful week. 🙂
