The Power Of Words – Speak Healing for Victims of Ebola and Protection for Caregivers

The news today that a health care worker at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital have tested positive for Ebola after being involved in the care of Thomas Eric Duncan, the first diagnosed patient in the USA with Ebola and the first to have died there, was not totally unexpected from my vantage point.

Why? Having worked as a Nurse myself for some ten years and directly involved in the care of patients with highly infectious diseases, I came to realize later on that even after following protocols and procedures, that there was still that slim chance that the breach could have lapsed at some point along the way, and that infection through contact was a possibility.

Thankfully, that did not happen.

But today Ebola is spreading rapidly in the West African countries of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.

Over the past months and most recently, we have seen the many headlines on the subject such as “Ebola battle through nurse’s eyes,” “Is Ebola the Next AIDS?” to even “Ebola Joker Escorted from Plane.”

No matter how it is headlined, we cannot deny that this has become a serious epidemic. It is creeping through the backdoor, the front door and across borders in unsuspecting ways. It is causing some to panic while many others are reacting with fear.

Speak Healing for Victims of Ebola

It is time to make one thing absolutely clear and that is, Ebola is no respecter of persons.

So what do we do as blacks, whites, Americans, Asians, Africans, Hispanics, governments, CDC, health care workers, Christians and non-Christians alike?

There is power in every word that we speak. I also believe that for each one having being taught properly in the use of God’s word and by exercising our faith, we can grow to a point where it will be a common thing that healing will come forth.

1.)  Jeremiah 17:14 says, “Heal me O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”

2.)  Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

3.)  ‘And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Then Jesus put His hand and touched him saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.’ [Matthew 8:2-3 (NKJV)] The word of God will heal and save countless lives.

4.)  “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” [Exodus 23:25  (NKJV)] Serve the Lord and healing will be yours.

5.)  “And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on those who hate you.” [Deuteronomy 7:15] God takes all sickness away from you.

6.)  “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns yu with loving-kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. [Psalm 103: 1-5] One of God’s benefits is healing.

7.)  “He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” [Psalm 107:20]

8.)  “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord. “Because they called you and outcast saying, This is Zion; no one seeks her.'” [Jeremiah 30:17]

For some of you, it may take some time to develop your faith. For others of us, it’s only a matter of time after we come together as a united voice and begin to speak God’s word into the atmosphere that healing will begin to manifest in the West African countries, Spain, and those affected in the USA.

To every west African country stricken with Ebola and to Spain and Texas where persons have contracted the disease, believe that God will restore your health. Your sickness will leave and will not come again and so shall you give testimony to the world of your healing that has come forth by the hands of the Almighty God.
