Mothers Who Rock Series 1 – She Builds A Legacy and Then Pass It On

She is 100% woman…your mother, my mother
The Queen of her castle
Beaming with joy her smile and the burst of her laughter,
the sum total that exudes her strength and confidence
She is the nurturer, prayer warrior and the caregiver
often times the last one going to bed –
She holds you in her arms and rocks you to sleep
Then on bended knees she prays for her children and her spouse.
What would the world be like without mothers
who as morning breaks into day she is the first one getting up in the house
cooking breakfast and lunch
as she still makes time to slip in the snack for a mid-morning munch.
She is the kind of woman who in holy fear honors the Lord
Ready as always to instill in others the power of His word.
She is a true Gem
Not the kind of person who would instigate a fight,
yet assumes the role of protector and defender for her children
while she lets the world know when to back off
“don’t touch ma picnee buoy, if ya kno wha good fu you don’t trouble ma chile!”
She is the kind of mother who prays you never experience a ounce of pain
That you carry no burden and you can smile through the sunshine and the rain
Many wise men are known to have consulted her for her wisdom
Her sound advice to many have kept us
out of the court system, especially out of the prison
Mother, some say Mamma, Mom, to her grandchildren it’s Grandma or Nanna
Whatever the name we call her
she is the kind of person who prays you into your future
One that she always hope is bright
and that you would walk the straight path to always do right
She instill God’s peace and love inside your heart
Trusting God that you not just keep it to yourself
But that you pass it on to others whether near or far.
She is a woman of loyalty, honesty, truth and integrity
Who prays that all would see their dreams come true
and would have great success in life no matter what they do.
She plays the role of the nurse and sometimes the doctor
who can tell that you have a fever by just looking at you and even without the thermometer.
She is the one who knows right away that you have the flu
before the sniffles and the the sneeze
when others just don’t seem to have a clue.
She knows the right temperature for your bath water
when all she does is dips her elbow into it
Her instinct and intuitive nature is a welcomed gift
As she sees around the corner, even miles away into the distance
and pro-actively prays for your safety, health and your happiness
How easily she can tell, no one really knows except our heavenly Father.
I love you my dear departed Mother
With tears streaming down my face, I say “I love you, I miss you dearly”
I believe you are looking down from heaven and watching over me
I want you to know
More and more I am becoming the woman you prayed for me to be.
You have passed on to me a legacy
That I will pass on to your grandchildren and great grandchildren until the day I die
That all the riches in this world, the silver and the gold cannot buy.
Like you and grandma, I now know the Lord Jesus
Your legacy of love and strong faith I now share
Pointing the world in the direction of Him who died on the Cross and who cares.
So on this day I say to all the world, what a wonderful Mother that you were to me
That I am thankful for all you’ve done throughout my life.
And may God bless you, grandma, and ALL our Mothers today and everyday
That although as children we don’t always say what’s in our heart
We appreciate the wonderful Mother/s that you are.
